Popular Post theboyangel
utter garbage. We have a Toothless manager who cannot manage creative players. we look devoid of creativity and swagger. With this assembled squad of a players we should be striking fear into the opposition, instead we instil a sad, passive personna and a mere shadow of our combined ability. Yet again, due to weak guidance England are wasting another generation of good players. england cannot go into the next World Cup with Southgate in charge. If we do, we may as well raise the white flag now and give up. Pathetic

Popular Post danceoftheshamen
It was a horror show tonight for England. Well done to Scotland though, a great morale boost & lifeline for them. Grealish should have started that tonight or at least been put on for the whole of the 2nd half as it was so obvious the midfield & front three was a poor mix with no creativity and way too much focus on sideways / backwards patterns. This is on Southgate for me however as it was a mirror image of that shocking, ineffective World cup style when we lost to Iceland. It was the Same dull & lifeless style we saw then and the common denominator is Sterling & Kane. Once again the number of moves Sterling wrecked with poor control, pointless backwards passes & straying needlessly offside even when looking right across the line was embarrassing for an international footballer. He has a bit of pace and has a jinking run in him but we call him the "move wrecker" in our house as 9 times out of 10 moves break down as soon as he gets passed the ball. Bizarre for Southgate to take off Kane once Jack was finally on too as they seem to link well. Bringing Rashford on was the wrong move for me as it left nobody in the box for Jack to pick out. I feel sorry for Grealish as his swashbuckling style does not suit Southgates boring, ineffective and ultra negative backwards football which is why he isn't picked in my view. England are not winning this tournament, they are a million miles away from Italy, France, Portugal etc.

I feel like there is a hierarchy, and Jack's quality and popularity has thrown a spanner in the works that some players and even the manager doesn't like. Stems from the manager. He has made it more of an issue when Grealish isn’t on the team sheet, if we were flying it would be justified. Against Croatia and yesterday it wasn’t good enough, the goal against Croatia actually papered over cracks. We don’t score enough because we don’t create enough. At one point yesterday, Grealish made a pass out to the wing I’m sure like all of us here we knew what he was expecting having watched him for Villa (expecting a full back to provide width I.e like Targett does) Luke Shaw on that side just stood there in the defensive half, embarrassing. To top that off you had Matterface say he tried to pass it to a substitute??? What??
Lord Willard
Anyone take Jose Mourinho after the summer? Not doing so well at club football could be perfect for him.

VillaAlex
Pickford James Stones Mings Chilwell Phillips Bellingham Foden Mount Grealish Kane Has to be the next 11 for me although Kane would be extremely lucky to keep his place. Saying that I don't rate DCL or Rashford (up front) too much. Sancho really deserves minutes as well but I'd like to see Jack and Foden together. mikeyp102
Well that was very dour from England. Southgate clueless as always. Losing midfield battle all game but doesn’t change it. Bring on Jack, but then allow Sterling to play where he wants, completely taking out any shape. Taking off Kane and bringing on a clearly unfit and out of form Rashford. Having no game plan. Only using 2 subs out of 5 at your disposal. Credit to Scotland, they wanted it more, had a better shape, better organised, knew what everyone’s roles were. Unlucky not to score.
Nicho
So have we qualified now? Maybe he will experiment in the next game. He won’t. Kane is starved if service but also looks way off it, not taking Watkins who can do all that running he wants of the two wingers on his own is ridiculous.
sne
Kane is clearly not fit, his movement is way off. Just replacing him would make a huge difference for England. Edited June 19, 2021 by sne

I really don’t think we need a back 6 unless it’s against one of the top sides. It’s massively stifling us going forward.

Popular Post Wurzel
Well Southgate pissed up the wall the two warm up games he had by not playing the team he was going to use in the tournament, totally baffling. Maybe if he had have used those games properly it would have been clear that the players he has played like Kane are not fit or upto it.He didn't take Watkins but he did take 4, yes,4 right backs, so he has very limited options if Kane is injured or having a mare. He decided that all that was needed last night was to change the fullbacks, well that went well. Shaw looks two stone overweight, and James was totally forgettable. Keeping Rice and Philips on the pitch against Scotland when you need a goal? Mount was very poor in the first game but he still chose him ahead of Jack, and kept him on when Jack came on, and yet Jack showed more in 25 mins than the rest of them put together in 2 games. Jack has to start in the next game, let him do what he, and only he, can do. All in all Southgate is showing how clueless he really is. Stubborn and lacking tactical knowledge. He needs replacing as soon as the tournament is over with a respected manager wit ha decent track record in the game.
