Guest av1
When I got to the ground tonight Emi wasn’t on the pitch training with the rest of the team, then the announcer said ‘there’s been a late change to the team sheet’ I had a really nervous couple of seconds until he went on to say that Willian had been withdrawn,
WallisFrizz
This is a really good watch. He talka specifically about Villa around the 12 minute mark. Says he’s trying to get more of his Argentinian team mates to join. 3
lexicon
Certainly not a legend yet (in Emi's case) and I think of all the players at the club, Mings has to be top of that list at the moment.

Lets wait and see. Whether Mings or McGinn get to that status remains to be seen, but I don't think it's correct labelling these players legends, especially whilst they're still playing and not seeing the complete body of work for the club. In years to come they may well be seen in that way but both have an awful long way to go. Emi does too imo.

We have never had a player regarded as the worlds number one in any position which cements him as our best keeper ever.

Captain_Townsend
Emi could well be a legend if we get top six this year and have a special season in 2023-24.

MWARLEY2
Big personality. And yes Messi please for a season before Barca can afford him again. Would love him playing away in the conference league for us in Bratislava.

Messi i absolutley do believe does owe Emi but I'm struggling to think of another transfer that would have made less sense at the time. Tevez and Mascherano to West Ham is probably closest I've got. Really? He replaces Bailey and we have our front two sorted. I honestly think Martinez could persuade him to join us, but practically we can't afford his fee or his salary. I just love that the talk is about Martinez bringing players to us, rather than Argentine players trying to persuade Martinez to join them. Emi is esponsible for a huge amount of our progress, and is doing more to push it further.
rubberman
This could probably go in tactics thread as well, but Emi is (quite surprisingly) not leading the shithousing keeper charts. In fact only mid-table: Quote Bazunu took an average of 43.7 seconds before taking each of his 18 goal kicks at the Emirates. Add that together and Southampton were able to burn 13 minutes and 6 seconds of time while taking goal kicks. Only Brentford’s David Raya in the Bees’ 2-0 win against West Ham (13 mins and 29 seconds) had been able to eke away more time in a game from goal kicks this season. from: https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/04/guide-to-premier-league-time-wasting/

Villa87
Blokes a legend. The way he talks about us - he gets it. He may well leave in the next couple of years but he will have given his all to help us get where we want.
