Apologies if posted, not seen it mentioned, we're in for Victor Nelsson apparently. CB from Copenhagen. 9m GBP bid placed.

Victor Nelsson - Copenhagen

Strengths: Passing, composure, positioning

Plays (a bit) like: Gerard Pique

21-year-old Nelsson has already been called up to the senior Danish national team, and started his career as a midfielder for Nordsjaelland before quickly being repackaged as a centre-half and, is often the case in the modern game, his finest attribute is passing out from the back.

With elite teams within leagues now routinely facing at least 10 men behind the ball, defenders are given a lot more space to break into midfield and pick out passes. That is exactly why Nelsson has flourished since his move to Copenhagen from Nordsjaelland in July, as not only does he see plenty of the ball, but he uses it effectively.

Above, we see Nilsson breaking out from the defensive line despite being surrounded by opponents. He proceeds to pick out a perfect, raking diagonal pass to the left-hand side.In the Superliga this season, the young Dane averages 72.7 passes per game, with 88% reaching their target - the third-most of any player in Denmark (min 1,000 mins).

He is a player who doesn't often go to ground, and while staying on his feet Nelsson wins an average of 4.7 duels per game, a 68% success rate.

He is still developing, but he has already generated an understanding and reading of the game from deeper areas, as displayed by his average of 1.3 Interceptions and 4.9 ball recoveries P90 minutes, despite Copenhagen regularly dominating games.

He's not even trying to explain himself. Just posting laughing emojis and saying it's too early for him.

He must need a coffee and a fag before he starts lying.

He was just asked if he had too many bevvies last night and he replied "I wish".

Was mentioned a few days ago don't know if there's any truth in it, would have thought we would offload a defender in order to bring one in.

What explanation could he offer for that? It was a clear fabrication.

Don't forget that the club was rewarded with around £108M for finishing 17th last season so all expenditure needs to be kept in context !!!

True but most revenue goes on wages....

Would make a lot of sense from the write up above. Smith wants to play out from the back with confident on the ball CB's.

If Rashica goes to Southampton or Leeds I'm going to boo him SO badly when he plays as Villa Park and I'm allowed in.

According to BILD information, the Kosovo striker had hoped until the end that a transfer to the Leipzig club would come about. But even RB currently lacks the financial means for a large transfer. That leaves Plan B Aston Villa, the hottest prospect of late. Problem: The club from Birmingham was considered a hot relegation candidate and did not appear attractive enough to Rashica. It is conceivable that he will now evaluate this differently after the Leipzig option has broken off and Aston Villa has had a good start (6 points from 2 games).

WERDER'S DECISION DAY

Klaassen before departure, riddle about Rashica

Werder's Frank Baumann (44) won't feel bored today!

Because the double poker for the departures of Davy Klaassen (27) and Milot Rashica (24) is now on the home stretch. This Sunday should bring about a decision, especially in the case of Klaassen. Will the Dutchman of Bremen return to Ajax Amsterdam or will he stay at the Weser?

Because time is of the essence. The transfer window in Germany closes on Monday (6 p.m.) and the possible Klaassen successor is not yet on the mat. Baumann: "There is still no agreement." The clubless Kevin Stöger (27 / most recently Düsseldorf) can only be considered as a stopgap if the favored options fail.

In the meantime, Holland's record champions have apparently already made a third offer for Klaassen. Werder is said to be weak at an amount between 13 and 15 million and let the vice-captain go.

Werder's day of decision: Klaassen before departure, riddle about Rashica!

For months, the departure of Rashica and more than 20 million euros in revenue was expected. But the Kosovo striker is still with Werder. Nevertheless, Baumann considers a change to be very realistic: "The probability is still greater that he will leave us."

But where?

According to BILD information, the Kosovo striker had hoped until the end that a transfer to the Leipzig club would come about. But even RB currently lacks the financial means for a large transfer. That leaves Plan B Aston Villa, the hottest prospect of late. Problem: The club from Birmingham was considered a hot relegation candidate and did not appear attractive enough to Rashica. It is conceivable that he will now evaluate this differently after the Leipzig option has broken off and Aston Villa has had a good start (6 points from 2 games).

Baumann ready to show his hand....

What I've found funny and strange about some players and the "they're going to be a relegation candidate lark" is if you're as good as you think you are we're not going to be a relegation candidate are we you fool.

I mean, as great as a player is, football is a team game. For example, despite having Jack with us we survived relegation by the skin of our teeth last season.

The one biggest failing of last season was pace. He who shall not be named that plays for Werder Bremen and has the first name Milot followed Rashica has extreme pace. We would have been higher up the table around 15th but on about 39/40 points. A lot more safe than staying up by 1 point.

We've had a brilliant window that last pacy attacker feels like the missing piece imo. Currently I think we're good for 12th.

I hate to piss on folks' chips but, surely we are not looking to sign Rashica any longer? If we did, where would he play? Grealish, Watkins and Barkley are going to be nailed on starters. The only chance would be wide right and he has Trezeguet and Traore already fighting for that position.

I'd love us to sign him because he looks a real talent but it just seems highly unlikely now.
