Firstly, the shivers returned last night but only for about 15 minutes and then I went to feeling normal temperature. My headache had gone and I was beginning to feel better, not so lethargic.

I slept well but woke just after 7am and had a blinding headache, right behind my eyes. My head was pounding. I took 2 paracetamol and fell back to sleep. I then woke up about 8:40am and completely soaked in sweat. I've had to take all the bed covers off cos they're soaked and had to air the bed. I've still got the same headache and also noticed a dry, sore throat developing and feeling a bit "chestier" than normal. I've taken my inhaler so hopefully that'll ease it a bit.

The irony of all this is, as a lifelong Asthma sufferer, I've never known my lungs to feel so open and was breathing better than ever since the planes were grounded.

take no risks fella. If it feels dangerous get thee to a hospital.

Seems that there’s a COVID-19 tracking app doing the rounds today. I’m a bit wary given how one such app has already been used for ransomware. Looks legit though https://covid.joinzoe.com/

It is legit.

There have been 83 deaths reported from covid-19 in England over the past 24 hours with nearly a quarter of them in a single London trust.

The latest figures take the total number of deaths in England to 386.

The patients were aged between 33 and 103 and all “were in vulnerable groups including with underlying conditions”.

London North West University Healthcare Trust reported 21 deaths from the virus in the previous 24 hours, according to the latest data released by NHS England. The deaths had occurred between 20 March and 23 March.

There have now been 36 patients succumb to the virus at the trust, more than doubling the trust’s total, which is now the highest in England.

On Thursday last week, LNWH declared a critical incident when the chief executive told staff its Northwick Park hospital had no critical care capacity left and was seeking help from neighbouring trusts.

The trust said the incident was stood down by 4pm on Friday 20 March after it opened more critical care beds.

Regional distribution has increased from 23 March, with London hospitals accounting for just over 40 per cent of the fatalities while the proportion reported in East of England, North East and Yorkshire, and North West all increased.

NHS Region Total deaths
(As of 24 March)
London 155
Midlands 62
South East 54
North West 43
North East and Yorkshire 31
South West 22
East of England 19

Ten more trusts have reported their first covid-19 death in the past day, taking the total count to 91.

These include Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Foundation Trust, North Cumbria Integrated Care FT, and University Hospitals Plymouth Trust.

A spokeswoman from LNWH said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a further 21 patients who had tested positive for covid-19 have passed away between Friday 20 March and Monday 23 March, and our thoughts remain with those people who have lost loved ones.

“Our trust is seeing a high number of intensive care unit cases, and we are stepping up our support in response to this demand, having already significantly increased the number of intensive care beds at our hospitals, but we need everyone to also do their bit by staying at home and washing your hands.”

Everyone talking about the treatment at work, over working from home, not closing, and poor management.  When this is all over I can see this being the next ppi scam. "Was you made to work more than 2 weeks in a busy environment of more than....Then you could claim blah blah".

Sweden really is going in the complete opposite direction compared to the rest of the world.

SATS, one of the biggest gym chains in Scandinavia are opening their gyms again in Sweden after closing them a week or so ago. In Norway and Denmark they remain closed thou.

Same goes with Skistar who is the company that runs most of the ski resorts in Sweden and Norway. They are open in Sweden but closed in Norway.

Apparently SATS have gotten the all clear from our CDC to re-open, this is just baffling to me. I can't see any other reason than them pushing for this herd immunity dream.

I work for a specialist mortgage lender. I won’t name them.

We have now set up all phones to divert to staff at home. We’ve implemented a whole new phone system just to do this. If someone calls the office, whether it’s a new sales enquiry, customer service anything, they’re diverted to staff working from home.

We employ about 1500 people, and the office is being manned by 10 people now doing the things that couldn’t be done from home.

I imagine all lenders and large offices will adopt a similar process, or already have.

Volumes of calls are ridiculous due to the mortgage holiday stuff.

Well at least you’re at home eh! Stay safe mate.

For those concerned about MOT, looks like you don't have to worry for a bit

Bloody good news, mine was due in a couple of weeks but I didn't really fancy it. If for no other reason than my trusted garage is next to work, and I'd have had to get a bus/taxi home which I'm not risking anymore.
