Villaphan04
Loads better than baker. About the same as Clark IMO.
Papillon
Good signing. Experienced, tall, good cover. For those making stupid comments about Clark being better, do you really Clark will ever be good enough for Arsenal, Milan etc? Don't know if you are being ironic, that's how poorly I rate Senderos. As for Arsenal and Milan, Senderos was never good enough for them either. In their roster, yes, but was always ridiculed at Arsenal (by the entite nation) and at AC Milan he played a whopping 14 games. At Valencia? 5 games. TrentVilla Posted June 4, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 4, 2014 Decent business in the circumstance I think. As always I'm not interested in what the fans of his former clubs think, I'll judge him on his performances for us.
MessiWillSignForVilla
Meh. Just like the Holt signing, not nearly as bad as people are making out on here, but not exactly good, just, meh. Although I would argue this would be a better signing than Holt, as cover for CB is probably our most desperately needed signing other than a CM or Full Back. TrentVilla Posted June 4, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 4, 2014 In fairness I think its poles apart from the Holt signing.
mickjacobjr
He is a cover player for vlaar and Okore a better player than baker who is dirt so people shouldn't overreact to this signing he has experience in the league and cost nothing at the min we won't spend money so decent back up in the circumstances
AVFCforever1991
Considering he's a backup, are we paying him backup wages?

ryanpev
Wouldn't Hangeland be better?!? He was on 50k can't afford that kind of wage now ere Hopefully a 32 yr old would take a cut to stay in the prem. Oh well. What do we know!

In their roster, yes, but was always ridiculed at Arsenal (by the entite nation) and at AC Milan he played a whopping 14 games. At Valencia? 5 games. And yet he was part of the Arse defence that got 10 champs league clean sheets and AC Milan wanted him? Poor form recently but never as bad as some make out. Tayls
Clark and Baker better wake up now, because one of them is gonna be 5th choice and probably out of the door...
troon_villan
Why do people keep listing "tall" as an attribute when talking him up. Talk about clutching at straws!
Brumstopdogs
Overall I don't think it would be a bad signing. He is better than Baker and Clark and he is an experienced international defender. Given the financial constraints and our need for defenders it makes sense.

Silent_Bob
I don't understand the negativity. It makes sense for the club to do business as usual, until a buyer turns up. There is no fee, and if a megarich owner pops up during the summer I'm sure he can afford Senderos' wages for a season. With or without a takeover, we are not going to build the team around Senderos. I'm pleased we are actually getting players in, as I feared we would do nothing.
Con
Next to Ron Vlaar he'll be very good. They're like twins. Serious competition for Okore.
RichiBoi11
People are freaking out thinking signing Senderos means no takeover will happen, but I think the length of the deal will indicate where we're at. If he signs a 1 year deal he's back up and coming in as a squad player, and it could mean anything from a takeover is imminent to still a ways off and the squad needs filling in the meantime. If he signs a 2 or 3 year deal though, I fear dark dark days are ahead for our club...
