gwi1890
Excellent, organised players on the pitch clearly understands the system, Nakamba and Mcginn will get the headlines but this man did plenty of the thankless stuff
Made In Aston
I get the impression Ash is Gerrard's eyes and ears in the dressing room. That go between between player and manager.

Davkaus
I'm really surprised at just what a good signing this was.
Chindie Posted November 27, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted November 27, 2021 Bloke's a great role model. Still has the skill and ability, but he's kept himself in shape and maintained his fitness. Puts a lot of veteran players to shame.
VillaChris
Did a good job today. Last two games is what we signed him for. Actually think he'll start midweek aswell as don't want either FB too exposed when Man. City quickly switch play.
The Fun Factory
He can play anywhere on the pitch. Give him a pair of gloves.

KMitch
Was pretty critical of him re-signing for us this summer and after some pretty lackluster peformances earlier on this season, but he was excellent today. He's another leader on the pitch.

OutByEaster? Posted November 27, 2021 Moderator Share Posted November 27, 2021 One thing I never, ever thought I'd be saying about 2010 Ashley Young is that he's going to be a very useful coach one day, perhaps a manager.

HanoiVillan
Apparently he now has the most assists of any Villa player in the Premier League era, at 42.
robby b
Great from Ash today with a free kick stanchion and an assist. Really glad he rejoined us. : >
Popular Post The Fun Factory
All I say is write this man off at your peril. He stayed at United for the best part of a decade under 5 different managers and had to completely change his game to still play for them. That was successful enough to get a recall for England and play in the side which had its best World Cup run for nearly 30 years. And then right at the end of his career he goes off to Italy and wins the Scudetto. He must be doing something right to keep on playing at this level at his age.
