Couple of texts from my Leeds supporting mate today. Virtuous.

We aint like other clubs, it's more than the football supporting Leeds and marcelo changed that in ways that other football fans will never know. Sad man.

Thing is mate sounds really cheesy and gay but we are different to everyone else. And the last 4 years has been down to him. 16 years of utter dross and this bloke who noone really knows comes in and transforms everything gave leeds their soul back. Lifted an entire city not on the field but throughout communities in Leeds. Feels like it's kinda been taken away. For the fans it's not just about the football and we aint quick to jump on bandwagons we do things our way. Feels cheap.

This is why the Leeds fan base is unpopular.

They're like blues fans. They're completely delusional about how they're different to other clubs

It's a one club city, you tend to get that.  They don't even really have a local rivalry, Leeds don't care about Bradford and Man Utd only really care about Leeds from kick off until the point when they are 2-0 up midway through the first half.

If it’s his community deeds that lifted the city and not the football, then they may as well keep him around. Get him a gig at the Salvation Army.
