I like Nakamba, he's worth keeping around. His break up play is good. But he also gives it away a lot. His second touch is a tackle too often.

He did a good job Vs Liverpool but also we were all further back so he had more options Round him when he won the ball, he was a touch rusty but that's expected.

Vs Palace he put us under pressure too often, wasn't involved as much and we were more expansive in our positioning (as we should be) he struggled. He made 2 interceptions (actually more than Vs Liverpool) and a couple of tackles but his overall play was back to his Smith era-performances.

We need someone who can do what he did Vs Liverpool but also make simple passes. Ideally they need to be better at progressive carries and progressive passes.

His passing is poor for simple passes. One good thing I will say about it is he lays it off quick if he does get it further up the pitch. He doesn't slow down play and tries to keep the ball moving. But he pretty much will always go sideways, even if the player has only just given him the ball. He shifts the play and the ball quickly but almost as though he's shifting the responsibility (that may be harsh).

In more defensive positions, he doesn't release the ball for the counter, he doesn't carry the ball forwards, his forwards passes often seem to be haphazard and without a target.

As i said, we need someone who can do what he did Vs Liverpool but also move play forwards and be smarter with his possession of the ball. It may be said that as the DM he doesn't need to - but he puts us under pressure too often because of how he is

Final part, he just looks clumsy, refereeing is poor in the Prem and that's not his fault. But he looks clumsy and it gives the ref's decisions to make - they aren't good enough to do that and so we give away too many freekicks in important decisions when he's on the pitch (although the same can be said about Dougie, comes in from behind with his hands up too often)

I think you have phrased that very well, Nakamba is limited but he always gives 100% for the cause, his effort can’t be faulted. If he could get on the ball and spray it around a bit, he’d be a better club than ours but he can’t

Nakamba is not good. No one really likes to say it cos he is a lovely smiley fella and always gives his best. which is true.
Yes he breaks up play well but theres little point in that if he immediately gives it back to the opposition by either underhitting a pass or running into an oppponent.
At this point in time I would be giving all the minutes to big Tim to learn his craft in the prem when there is little at stake. His ceiling is so much greater than Marv

Don't really want to get into this in the transfer thread, but he was our best player for Gerrard before his injury,

Can we improve this position 100% and we should, but Marv is definitely valuable to this squad

Exactly was only a couple of seasons everyone was slating him, now he’s the messiah in peoples eyes 😂he’s so limited for a midfielder, he can’t pass for starters I’m hoping kamara will be signed and he’ll be the starting number 6

I'd much rather Firmino over Suarez if i'm honest.

Would be a good addition IMO, and would probably help either of our other strikers.

And we’d have the team with the best overall gnashers.

He's very poor and should not be playing. Thankfully I don't think we'll see much of him in the future.

I don’t think he’s that bad but definitely a case of looking good for a game or two before he got injured by then his star seemed to rise more and more the less he played.

If wan bassaka is available id love him here. He is a absolutely brilliantly defender. He might not be the best at  going forward. But defensively he is outstanding

Sure RB is one of the positions we don't need to upgrade on this summer?

We still need two quality specialist players for each position

If Real Madrid offered 75m for Martinez, we’d unfortunately have to sell. I’d take Nick Pope off Burnley as his replacement, for sure. Top notch keeper. Not just based on this evening either.

He's the opposite of what Gerrard wants in a RB though, very good defensively poor going forward

I don't think he's better than cash

Is that a real rumour?

We're not in a position to go and blow £30-£40mil on someone like Wan Bissaka though as a rotation player. You're our resident scout apparently so I'm sure you have plenty of players you could recommend to the club.

I don't think there is a better right back at defending in the world than AWB.

I don't think he is AS BAD as people making out going forward.

Nah not for right back, Aarons is worth a look for the type Gerrard wants and AWB is rumoured to be available but I haven't seen the rumoured price yet.
