Also George Cummings was the ony player to stop Stanley Matthews consistently. Lucas is in good company......classy player.......will look even better when the midfield is strengthened as will Matty.

Club legend of course but a big old chunk of his Villa career in the Second and Third Division - before my time but my old man didn’t love him as much as I would expect of someone who spent 17 years at the club. In terms of Digne - class. The only player in our team today who would get in the opposition side (as long as Cancelo played on the right at least…)
Itsdjw2
Top top top class player. If we play our cards right we will make a profit on the upgrade by offloading targett to the Saudis for a ridiculous fee
Keyblade
Sometimes I have to remind myself that we have Lucas **** Digne playing for us. Short of signing Robertson, he's the best LB we could have signed. Possibly Gerrard's most important signing for his system, with Kamara likely a close second.

Delphinho123
Top quality left back. He’d get into 19 of the 20 PL teams - Liverpool being the exception. I have no concerns over our fullbacks at all.

Popular Post JAMAICAN-VILLAN
What a load of absolute Bollox he's talking! We need to get him on to VT, to get him some better knowledge about the Manager, Club and tactics. Sod the " Villa Engine " , " Advanced Bruceball and pensioners " directed by this clueless nitwit who has no Management knowledge or pull is the real play here! Lifted from Facebook. Digne interview: “I came to Villa both for the great project of this club and for the manager,” “Steven Gerrard is a legend in world football. And he is a very inspirational and ambitious manager – a very passionate person. It is important to have the ambition not only to win games but to play positive football, modern football, not destructive stone-age football. It is important for the players, and it is important for the fans. I am in love with football, especially when the football is positive.” “The club have been amazing since they came to me with their proposal. They really did present their project very well to me, and I believe in this project,” “I had other offers in January, but Villa quickly convinced me. I just got the right feeling in my stomach. “I want to give everything to help Villa back in the top of English football. That is our goal. Villa Park is such a great stadium with passionate fans, and football is all about making the fans happy and proud. Villa is a club with a great history, and we want to write a new chapter in the club’s history book.” “It is definitely one of my trademarks to help the team score goals,” he said. “It has been like that for me in my four years in the Premier League. I enjoy the assists and key passes but I also enjoy the defensive part of football. “At Villa, the manager wants me to be a part of attack, and that is great. In general - after half a season at Villa Park - it has been good already, and it will be even better in the future - for the team and for myself. I’m coming up to the best age for a football player - and I believe that the next few seasons will be the best in my career. “We want to play attractive, attacking football, and I love that - but we have also been too inconsistent until now. We will work hard to be more consistent, and I am sure that our manager will know the way to move us in the right direction. We are under construction, and we will improve as a team and as individuals next season.” On Kamara: “He phoned and asked me about Villa, and I was happy to be able to tell him a lot of good things about the club - and about the manager. I just said the truth to him: 'If you come, you will enjoy every single minute in Premier League - and you will develop and enjoy yourself with the style of football at Villa, with the way the manager is - and things like that'.” Edited June 2, 2022 by JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Villatillidie95
Think he will really suit the style of play and really kick on under the pressing style critchley wants to bring in. i remember against Man U at home back in January on his debut and it was really noticeable how much space he was finding up and down his side and thought he played very well that day. still quite underrated here imo but will deffo become a key part over the next few seasons
Popular Post dont_do_it_doug.
Can't believe he got a start for France tonight ahead of Matt Targett. I'm writing a letter to my MP. 1

That wasn't the issue but believe it if you want The issue was giving away a capable left back for practically nothing and assisting a rival who then finished above us. Left back is now returning to us and we got no benefit from the deal. Especially when Digne was missing a few games 3

Also as I said at the time Targett has been a good professional at the club and had a great opportunity to play first team football and improve his chances of a move in the summer. He was surplus to requirement at Villa. I personally think it would have been a quite shitty to block his move when we also had Young.
