Reasonably straightforward win. I'm a little worried about Martinez, not quite himself in the first two games.

Glad of the 3 points and on to Brentford. Ramsey MOTM for me, great energy and a real calm presence on the ball.

Job done, thought the team was solid all round, Ramsey and McGinn were great, VAR did its job.  Still look a bit of a patched up team but that's not surprising and credit to Dean for getting it right.

Glad to be proved wrong. Ramsey stepped up, but our midfield as a whole looked much better as a three. Newcastle shit. Young also superb. Delighted we have Ings.

I feel like he just needs to be sedated and kept in a room full of rainbows and puppies for a week. He plays like he’s done 5 lines before kick off.

Thought Luiz was very valuable today.

Good, solid win even with a load of injuries. We'll be better with Watkins and Bailey in the team and the likes of Traore to bring off the bench rather than Wesley.

Newcastle were very dirty - thought we played well given the circumstances what with the poor pre-season and players missing.

Mings was immense.  MOTM for me.  That said, Jacob Ramsey was excellent at times.  He's got an eye for a pass and works hard in defense, too.

2-0 was deserved, but still room for improvement.  Our new set piece coach is already paying dividends.  UTV!!!

Good result, controlled that game for large parts. Can't say I was ever really worried once we got the 1st goal, Newcastle are horse shit. 

Considering our midfield is meant to be League 2 standard or something well McGinn and Luiz were both solid but Ramsey was absolutely superb. Brilliant on the ball and gives tons of energy, that's his best performance in a Villa shirt so far. MOTM for me but Young also very good. 

Maybe we can chill out on here for this week at least?
