Be interesting to see what our plan is with him and Watkins.

Watkins to go out on the left?

They can interchange CF and Second Striker as if the SS is #10 in 4231 They both press well

This was signed posted by the betting, but no one reputable spoke about this.

so where was the betters getting their info to dive down the odds?

I think Nasif got on Bet365 when he was good odds and put £100m on us to sign Ings.

I don't want to have to sit through 2 hours of Ings' little brothers, sisters and cousins being reeled out to introduce themselves to the world thanks very much

What time is the Craig Butler Danny Ings signing show on chaps?

Youtube now showing as 01:45am. Ings is still stuck at Southampton airport but will be in the studio for a Q&A. Worth staying up for I reckon.

Fecking hell man!

Just come on to read some Grealish obituaries and find this. Welcome Danny Ings! He’s a very good striker, a great addition to our forward options.

How satisfying is it that none of these jerknalist fools or ITK knobbers even had the slightest clue?

To put this into perspective, Danny Ings is almost exactly 1 year older than Harry Kane.

For a player than can score a variety of different goals, and has never relied on blistering pace, this is a great signing IMO.

Makes me feel better... £25m on a player with that goal scoring record, and no need to rely on pace is good for me.

If we avoid any major injuries to him we get a guaranteed 10+ goals... and even if we do, i'm not convinced we need him anyway!

Even more crucially it has pissed off some man city fans too.

Good header of the ball too, complimenting our new specialist set piece coach. It's nearly like we have a holistic plan in place for the season

Good point - JWP a certainty surely...

Maybe we'll even play a different style of 433.  Previously we played a striker and two wingers in that front three with Grealish and Traore but now we could play, like Liverpool three forwards in Watkins, Ings and Bailey.  So Watkins and Bailey wouldnt be out wide, they would be more forward and off centre rather than wide.  Or Watkins in the middle and ings and Bailey coming in like Firmino drops and Mane and Salah come in

So many options

I know I have had several conversations with you on exactly this on different threads and via messages too - but this is precisely what we've been saying for weeks.  Another good striker gives us so many potential options.  4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and (just to annoy certain posters on here) even 4-4-2.  I really don't think that Ings will start on the bench as often as he will start.  But the beauty is that I can see Ings, Ollie, Emi and Bailey inter-changing positions during matches and giving defenders a real headache.  All my non-Villa mates have really sat up and taken notice of this signing.  They all think we have made an amazing signing and are now worried that we might overtake them next season (they are mainly Arsenal, Spuds or West Ham fans).
