As you'd expect, very little or no sympathy on sha.com....its as if they put their blinkers on when it comes to their own club in regards to financial issues and then slag off other team's jamminess in ducking punishment. Give their Derby thread enough time and there'll be a jammy vile comment or three
VillaJ100
I think the rumours of some big twit at the EFL being a bloser are true
YLN
Based on his performance for Ireland on Sunday, Jason Knight could be a good bargain purchase for a lower PL side. 20 years old, 84 appearances in the Championship, 41 starts last season. 2 assists for Ireland on Sunday in a 28 minute cameo, and involved in the first goal as well. Looks like a very clever player, and makes very good decisions. Rooney tackled him in a training session and tore Knight's ankle ligaments because Rooney is a buffoon, so I'm sure he wouldn't be too upset to leave. Although Roo will probably go too.

mikeyp102
I don’t see the point in giving another point deduction, surely they should’ve just punished once.

Xela
Makes sense as I think Sports Direct are headquartered in Derbyshire. Derby could do a lot worse.
It's Your Round
Mike Ashley would do a good job of consolidating Derby’s position in League One.

Hornso
Why spend £50m on a club probably heading for League 1? Sounds a bit excessive doesn’t it?
useless
When you look at it Ashley didn't do the worst of jobs at Newcastle, spent money most summers, for the most part were a midtable premier league side, got relegated a few times but they came back up first time of asking on both occasions, obvisously the toon army army would have liked to have done better but it was hardly a disaster for them, apart from a brief spell in the nineties it's not as if they had been much better before. Obviously has faults and probably wouldn't be the ideal owner in most of the Derby fans eyes, but only have to look at other clubs that have had ownership issues to see that Derby could do a lot worse.

I think Ashley did the minimum he thought was sufficient to keep them in the top flight with purchases and managers. Where he neglected the club the most seems to be in infrastructure around the club, as well as the ambitions on the fan base. But ultimately I think you are right, if Derby fans are happy with an owner who is going to steady the ship and be competitive in the championship I think they could do worse. useless
If it's the difference between not having a club at all or Mike Ashley I'm sure they will take the latter, and hope he can take them up and sell on to somebody better.

Popular Post Mark Albrighton Posted January 7, 2022 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted January 7, 2022 Ashley to take over Derby. Derby to stay up. Newcastle to blow a load of cash this transfer window. Newcastle to be relegated still. Derby to beat Newcastle in the championship play offs next season with Ashley clearly getting pissed from some alcohol he’s sneaked in, using a Sports Direct mug as a vessel. 4
