Who's in for Ings? Spurs?

Oops, just checked it. I thought his contract expires at the end of the season but it's next season. Still though, he's meant to be playing hard ball regarding signing an extension so Southampton could be looking to cash in.

Wouldn't say no to getting him in.

He's still only 28 so in similar profile to what Calum Wilson was last summer when we wanted him.

To make the next step we need one player in squad capable of getting 15-20 and then another who can get 10 + in a season and overall we score 60 + goals in a season which we won't do this season.

Obviously Ollie can be one and can do it this season but don't see an obvious other candidate in the squad.

Spurs obviously with Kane and Son have that and Everton currently have Calvert Lewin on 13 prem goals and Richarlison on 6 and been in good form lately. Leicester have Vardy well infront as ever but behind him Maddison on 8 goals with his injury disrupted season and Harvey Barnes on 9 goals.

Hopefully the right winger we get in could also get close to double figures over a season.

Yep agree with that apart from CM.

We have as it stands McGinn, Luiz, Sanson, Ramsey and Nakamba done enough to earn himself another year here although perhaps we'll still cash in. Ahead we've still got Bert and Jack to play the position Barkley's been in for most of the season if/when we sign another wide player.

I'd be really surprised if we got in another CM in the summer unless we lose Doug. Of course there's the long held desire to get in a physically dominant midfielder (seemingly Philip Billing is only one of his type in world football who can do this according to half of VT!) but I'd be surprised. Something to probably wait until next January and then do Sanson type signing. Bigger priorities in first 11/squad to solve this summer before we get to CM.

Disagree we need a defensive midfielder to play in the pivot that is good enough that the people in front can stay further up the pitch.

Koopmeiners would be the only player I would sign this summer if I were only allowed to sign one player

I wouldn’t say no either but I bet he will still go for a right wedge with a year left on his deal

No, but I think it's no chance he'll move for £ 15 milion. None. Zilch. Nada. Never ever happening. They could start an auction this summer and easily get twice that. Clubs get desperate.

I hear what you are saying but I do not think that will happen, as many have already pointed out so far.

A club can bid as much as they want, but if the player doesn't agree terms with that club then their bid is pointless.

That is the crucial bit.

Teun Koopmeiners sounds like the kinda player we need...... another young Gareth Barry.

I would just love us to find another Gareth Barry.

Just add Erling Haaland and sign just 2 players this summer of that calibre.

I think we need at least 1 midfielder (2 if Jack stays on the wing) a high number of games are won or lost by the midfield battle and we have lost a few of those battles this season with no real option from the bench to change it. Get an improvement on Nakamba and a decent number 10 and our midfield is good

Your post only makes sense for Tammy, Edouard would definitely go to a club where he is there to seriously challenge for the starting spot

Can't see Tammy moving to a club where he is the definite starter, as that would mean that he is probably going to a bottom half team with no chance of competing and they probably wouldn't be able to pay his wages anyway.

I think he is not happy at Chelski as he is not even making the matchday squad - Giroud and Werner are in front of him - and they are chasing Haaland.  I think the kid just wants to be in the picture and, if he performs, to stand a chance of keeping the shirt.  Him and Watkins would be good competition but could also play in a pair in a 4-3-1-2 with Jack behind them as both, well certainly Watkins, are comfortable pulling out wide.

Still think I'd prefer Edouard though at the 15-20m and lower wages - just gives us more scope to go big with a Right Winger and CM'er where we need to prioritise imho.

Phil Billing type is what I think is meant.

Not good enough IMO.

There lies the problem chris.....none of them is a stand out No 6

None of them is the class of Gareth Barry, when he was with us......and that is one position we need to improve to progress.....if we want to stay where we are, play around with them, above.

No 6 is not a position to fill with any old midfielder who does most jobs, its not a jack of all trades we need ,its a master of ONE......its a specialist we need in that role.

It’s.... Kalvin Phillips. Talking him into a move, and Leeds into selling, is another matter.

Would’ve said Declan Rice too if West Ham weren’t actually going to finish above us. Not convinced he’s going to Chelsea.

Aurélien Tchouaméni perhaps, he fits the profile and has been in great form since the new year. Only 21 and has played in every French national U team. Problem is Monaco already paid quite a lot of money to sign him from Bordeaux last summer.

Can someone go on FM, click on Phillips’  name and then on ‘find similar players’ pls?

Rhian Brewster would be a great replacement for Keinan in the squad (obviously not in terms of style). He has been poor for Sheffield, is a sellable asset when they drop so potentially will be at a cut price and still has a lot of potential. His style was never suited to Wilders Blades, he'll pick up his potential in a side that play football.

There isn't a lot of value to be had in Sheffields squad, Berge and Brewster will be their assets most likely to remain in the Prem. O'Connell too but can see him staying with them

El Ghazi has 6 goals in 812 minutes which is a little bit over 9 games of football.

Same as Hourihane though for me.  Capable of goal contributions (because he shoots a lot) but adds little else to the team.
