Maybe we can give them Jota back.

With more time and space and not playing for a shit team like Blose he can be a force in the Championship again.

25m? Wheres that come from? I thought he had an 18m release clause which is the most I thought he'd be worth?

No release clause apparently, that was an error by the reporter

OK. Well, Brentford players cost 20m. I thought that was understood from last summer and interest rates have largely been frozen.

Each and every player is £20m despite the club only being worth about £80m.

It's incredible how many times he was through 1 on 1 on goal. How often does that happen nowadays? At Villa especially. I can remember Kodjia doing it a couple of times around the time we were signing it but we played nothing like Brentford. Was such a silly signing. Basically saw he scored a lot of goals and went "yup, we need this guy" with no thought as to how we'd get him to replicate that.

Probably explains why he's been such a bad signing for us.

If we're comparing Abraham and Watkins in the Championship then the following stats might be useful.

Abraham

26 goals from 94 shots

4 assists

pass completion rate 70%

Watkins

26 goals from 86 shots

4 assists

pass completion rate 75%

Having watched  both players regularly my honest opinion is that Watkin's all round game which includes a bigger engine and greater pace, makes him a slightly better option for what we need in this Villa "Team".

I'm not knocking Tammy, because he also would be a fantastic but much more expensive addition.

Tammy has proven he can do it in the PL though. That's what you pay for.

Watkins may well set the PL on fire - but it's a big risk at £25m imo.

And yet we'd have definitely been keen to sign Tammy for £25m last year when he wasn't yet proven in the Prem. In fact, we'd have probably paid a decent amount more!

And we spent about that much on a CB in Mings, who wasn't yet proven in the Prem.

Some would have been - but a lot on here were saying he wasn’t Prem quality.

Tammy Abraham's could demand wages that would likely to be multiples of what Watkins could ask for. Could be £20m over 5 years in the difference.

Wolves had a bid accepted at £18m in january while he was on loan at Villa.

I forgot about that! Respect to Tammy for staying—though I expect he felt he wanted a shot at getting in the Chelsea team.

Should have just bought the entire club last year.  Their new stadium added at least 30 million to that 80 million pound sticker!
