No release clause apparently, that was an error by the reporter

I thought that was understood from last summer and interest rates have largely been frozen.

At Villa especially. I can remember Kodjia doing it a couple of times around the time we were signing it but we played nothing like Brentford. Was such a silly signing. Basically saw he scored a lot of goals and went "yup, we need this guy" with no thought as to how we'd get him to replicate that. Probably explains why he's been such a bad signing for us.

Abraham 26 goals from 94 shots 4 assists pass completion rate 70% Watkins 26 goals from 86 shots 4 assists pass completion rate 75% Having watched both players regularly my honest opinion is that Watkin's all round game which includes a bigger engine and greater pace, makes him a slightly better option for what we need in this Villa "Team". I'm not knocking Tammy, because he also would be a fantastic but much more expensive addition. Tammy has proven he can do it in the PL though. That's what you pay for. Watkins may well set the PL on fire - but it's a big risk at £25m imo.

In fact, we'd have probably paid a decent amount more! And we spent about that much on a CB in Mings, who wasn't yet proven in the Prem. Could be £20m over 5 years in the difference. Edited August 9, 2020 by Kuwabatake Sanjuro

Vive_La_Villa
@jonjon my post didn’t mean to be patronising. I though Jota was a good player for you. He could still do a job.

It's no risk at all, at the money we want (unknown) he's a snip in these days of inflated prices, Having seen him play live in at least 70 matches for Brentford he is the real deal, an absolute super fit athlete who has only missed 7 games out of 184 for us and Exeter, an absolute work horse who runs for ever, and delivers at the same time, holds the ball up well, above all knows where the goal is, the switch to striker has been his making, he will be well missed by us all, he's been a pleasure to watch these last few years, whoever gets him will be more than well rewarded.
