's playing more Looks great to be fair, however it's obviously his injury record which is the concern.

As backup if he could stay fit, we could do worse.

I remember him coming on and scoring a shedload of goals as an impact player.

Deano has said we would "need to take risks"

Looks like he's playing more like a 10, do they play 4-2-3-1 and he's in the 3? Does look quality there to be fair. Were his injuries often muscular? Might be a warmer climate helps with that. Has he been injured much there?

Wow. Big no then. Shame, bags of talent his body has let him down badly.

Sturridge's problems are with his head not his body. Other players play through the knocks and niggles that keep him out for months at a time.

Wasn't there rumours years ago that some of his injuries were actually not real and he was imagining them?

Leipzig are a top side, currently top of table and invested in attacking areas in order to push on etc. Doesn't really need Nancy Drew to investigate this mystery, as things stand he's not good enough to play for a side who are top of the table and also in the Champions League. Doesn't make mean he wouldn't improve us and isn't a talent player.

They havent really invested that much in their attacking options. They have had the same attacking duo/trio since 2016 consisting of Yussuf Poulsen, Emil Forsberg and Timo Werner.

Klopp seemed to say something to that effect IIRC. Maybe sometimes he just doesn't have the stomach for it and pulls up with an injury.

baggies suggested the same, both in terms of performance when he's actually playing and bottling challenges not chasing after everything and then also dragging out his required recovery time, the medical team were declaring him fit enough to get by but he wanted another week or 2

This was alluded to by a former manager (was it klopp?). No real proof it's the case, and perhaps the manager was trying to suggest that with the right environment and some mental training that he isnt actually a genuine crock.  That said it would be a no from me.

The pace of the game in that video is miles from what even the championship is, let alone the premier league. Looks like he's playing so gingerly that he's either carrying an injury or worried about moving for fearv of pulling a muscle.  Shame as I'd have loved us signing him a few years ago when the fact he supported us might have seen him drop to our level.  As it is, we'd be the ones lowering our standards in the hope he still has it hidden somewhere.

I remember listening to a podcast in the summer when we were being linked to the free agent Sturridge, one of his ex team mates was on the podcast (the name escapes me) but he was saying that Sturridge would pick and choose which games he was fit for. Whenever there was a difficult game or one that he didnt fancy he'd make himself unavailable with a mystery injury - when the day before he was fine in training
