1-2 weeks of Ozil’s salary would probably pay for all 55 annual salaries and they’ll contribute far more than Ozil has or will.

If he had anything about him he’d offer to give up a fortnights wage but of course he won’t (cue all the ‘why should he’ responses - he should because he’s taking an obscene wage for doing absolutely nothing right now).

I came to pretty much post the above.

He shouldn’t have to do it, the owner can afford not to let these people go, it would though be the decent thing to do and would surely give him self satisfaction and pride.

Disgusting. It's reported he's worth $8.3m dollars. With only 1%   interest he could spend $227k a day until the earth no longer exists. or take no more money and no interest spend $35k a day for the next 1000 years.

It’s not Ozil’s fault tbf to him but it would be nice if the players tried to do something to keep the staff employed.

Its absolutely terrible PR for them, it’ll cost them far more in the long term if they follow it through. I’d love new players to turn them down for the way they are behaving.

Letting 55 non playing staff go due to lack of money due to Covid-19.

Also, offering Aubameyang a new £250k/week contract

Saw a tweet saying Kroenke had done extremely well out of the pandemic also.

Was on an Arsenal News post on Facebook (no idea how to link directly, one for the rumour pile rather than news/fact).

Quote

🗞 Francis Cagigao - the Arsenal scout that discovered Cesc Fabregas and Gabriel Martinelli is reported to be one of the Arsenal staff members to be made redundant.

That’s gratitude for ya.

This 55 staff being made redundant, whilst offering hundreds of thousands of pounds a week to players in new deals, and being owned by a billionaire.

Its nothing short of disgusting, its a scum action tbh, if this kind of thing doesn't stop it wont be long before football starts to lose supporters.

I'm shocked soneone (or multiple people) at Arsenal would be so incompetent to not realise how this would look and the probable impact on the clubs reputation.

Absolutely.

DISGUSTING.

Willian signs. 3 year deal at 32 years old.

Rumoured to be c£220k per week.

Had to cut those 55 jobs to be able to afford a few months of his salary.

massive faux pas that id be surprised if even their own fan base weren't royally pissed off by

another example of Kroenke stinking the place out

FWIW I really rate willian so no problem with the deal itself, the 2 aren't necessarily related

Leaves a bitter taste. Madness to give a 32-year-old that kind of contract, given the job cuts.
