Jonathan Kodjia

There are a few theories why Gestede took the penalty ahead of Kodjia. I suspect there is a continually updated pecking order at the club but it could also be that substitute Gestede was physically and mentally fresher than Kodjia and/or that keepers are usually briefed about the penalty technique of the opposition's starting XI first choice penalty taker which wouldn't have included Rudy.

I thought maybe he was injured. Last 10 mins or so he wasn't taking anybody on and I thought an injury was the only possible excuse for how awful some of them "crosses" were!

I like the team spirit reason more though, he seems a really top bloke.

I'm not sure actually.

I was quite annoyed about that before Rudy confidently slotted it home.

But maybe Gestede is genuinely ahead of him in the penalty taking pecking order?
Was Rudy on the pitch when Kodjia took his last couple?

Kodj said he let Rudy take it to help with his confidence since he hasnt scored since September. What a good team player. This is the kind of attitude I like
