Mile Jedinak

It's pretty clear we need him alright, regardless of said limitations. At least we have one midfielder with some sort of presence on the pitch. Age is problem though, as he probably won't be able to play every game.

Apparently Palace fans singing his name last night. As far as I'm concerned they can have him. Awful player.

Disagree mate, his passing may not be the best but his presence and the way he protects the defence is something we need. Alongside a couple of decent midfielders he will look completely different and will be a rock in the team

We seem to like signing 'specialists' who are only good at one thing or only able to play a very particular role and I'm fed up of it, we need more all rounders in the squad, more dynamism. Jedinak is OK, does a good job at protecting the back, but useless at everything else, he will serve us reasonably well at this level, but clearly doesn't look among the best the league has to offer in his position.

I get where you are coming from and whilst I admit he is not the best in the league in his position, he is our best. If we get Lansbury and one more cm I would be happy with that for the rest of the season along with Tshibola

If Palace fans are pinning their hopes on re-signing a 32 year old midfielder with no pace and no passing ability they are as good as relegated.

That being said we look a worse team without him, and with our lack of midfielders we need to keep hold of him until at least the Summer.

100% agree. I had this discussion a few days ago regarding his passing ability (or lack off), is it so difficult to find a DM that can also pass a ball 5 yards?

Sanchez has limited passing, but the reason he looks so good for Columbia is because he always has a midfielder 2 or 3 yards away showing for an easy pass once he's broken up play.

Hopefully when we get a midfield in, we can do the same with MJ and remove his passing from the equation.

The reason Jedinak looks so bad is that he's doing everything himself because of our non-existant midfield!

The guy is a beast who's job is to break up play, protect the back four and bully the opposition - all of which he does very well.  His passing is attrocious i know, but give him two decent mids who will firstly want the ball, but also find space and give him options to make a simple lay off to and we're fine.

Agreed. And as bad as his passing is, he's put a few excellent balls forward resulting in goals. Kodjia v Brentford and Kodjia v Blackburn come to mind.

He doesn't have the mobility he once had and he's basically a half back with his role to shield the two centre backs i wouldn't even call him a DM

People expect him to be some kind of box to box player like Delph but he's not,as evident against Cardiff a physical side we looked spineless without him were much stronger when he plays

The reason he looks so bad is because he has no footballing ability whatsoever.

He wins headers and directs them badly which is a vast improvement on what he does when trying to direct anything with his feet. Whoever thought giving him the best part of 50k per week was a sound investment needs a slap. I'd personally carry him back to Selhurst Park he is shit and is lucky he usually has Gardner or Westwood along side him to make him look less shit. He really is a dire footballer.

Say what?

How good did those 2 look in our last game? Even Bruce pulled them both after 45.

Absolute over the top nonsense.

Gardner or Westwood to 'make him look less shit' :crylaugh:

Trump level hyperbole
