He is rubbish though. He has 5 goals in his last 33 games and his only good season in the top flight came during lockdown

He is just another Connor Wickham {another for this thread}

Not really been fit though. 47 goals in 138 games for Leeds isn't a bad return, so far from a rubbish player just not top level

Wout Faes an absolute dire footballer

Person who scouted him should be sacked and his former club and agent should really be arrested for fraud

Can only assume it was the same person that scouted Soyuncu. Horrible.

Not solely to blame for Leicester getting relegated but he is a big reason they are down there. Not a defender by any stretch of the imagination

Sterling has proven to be so had at football he should return his PL medals

He's another Theo Walcott or Leon Bailey. Lots of pace and zero skill or first touch. All got very lucky with the clubs they ended up at.

Except Sterling has won the Premier League several times and scored over 100 PL goals and etc etc. He’s gone to shit because he peaked young and his game revolves around pace, but he was a very dangerous player.

He’s a level above the Walcott / Lennon / Bailey type of player.

I actually think Sterling is quite decent tbf.  In that 2-3 reverse at Citeh last season it was he who made the difference when he came off the bench.  Set up 2 of the goals.  He left Citeh cause he wanted more minutes and ended up walking into a cluster f*** at Chelski.  He'd be an upgrade on Bailey/Traore for us.... Maybe a cheeky bid in the summer?

Agree with all of this except us trying to sign him 🤣

he doesnt know what he is, think he's grealish or bernardo or even KDB, he's not, he's a striker, his skill set would make him a tap in merchant, he has great anticipation and acceleration, look at his england goals -

that's what he is, 1 or 2 touches and scores, he's about positioning and speed putting him in the right place at the right time, middle of the goal tap ins

instead he wants to play in the middle of the pitch getting 50 touches of the ball a game, dribbling and picking team mates out which he's not very good at

the freedom southgate lets him play with is baffling, we play through sterling rather than grealish, foden or mount, his role for england should be as simple as when kane drops deep sterling runs past him

Nailed it.

The ever trotted out line of "He causes defenders problems".  No, he doesn't. His pace causes problems. And then he will fluff his lines if he has to take more than two touches.

Let him loiter on the last man chasing a knock down, a flick on,  a through ball, a rebound or anything that gives him the chance of a shot with his first touch and he thrives.

Its not an approach any team can really live with because he does nothing else well, and the fact he tries to do other things make him a hindrance. At city he was given a strict role and it worked for them but even they knew his limitations, and pulled Chelsea's pants down with the sale. City kind of needed that pace merchant to put away some of the rebounds and goal line chances they created hundreds of. They upgraded to Haaland who does that all better, and more alongside.

I'd be distraught if we wasted even 20 million on Sterling.

He'd be good if he wasn't a jigsaw.

He’s pushing 30, he’s got 4 years left on his contract and he’s reportedly on a salary of some £17m a year (£325k a week) I don’t think a “cheeky” bid would be the best use of our budget.

Maybe not rubbish, but definitely over-rated and with one trick that doesn't justify his place in a Premier League team.

James Ward-Prowse.
