But you wouldn't get him for free in the summer. You'd pay the £7.5 million pounds to the player, rather than their club.

Absolutely. Football finances are not what people think they are which is why clubs now look at contracts in full rather than just the transfer fee or weekly wage.

This is why Balotelli 'only' cost £16m, whereas McCormack and Hunt went for the astronomical £11m-£12m - their salaries will be a few million a year less than the lunatics.

Without knowing the terms in this loan deal it's hard to judge whether this is a good or bad thing in terms of finances etc.... However, we're low on bodies in midfield when it comes to players who can retain the ball, so for that fact alone, I think it's a good loan.

A good whack of the current squad - would jump ship for higher wages and a club in a better state than villa - lets live with it.

Theres a lot of points betwwen now and Jan - if he helps us bag a few we all win.

Since O Neil left weve become fixated with long term plans, players for the future, club ethos ....all that bollox  - at last weve signed some players who are ready to perform now....

Football is the here and now.

a) If the image is of him scoring past us - who cares! Thats what he was paid by them to do!

B) We have NO FACTS about the whole hoo-har with Everton. How do we know that we didnt pull the plug, THEN he went to speak to Everton THEN that fell through THEN we changed our goalposts.

c) Welcome to the club! Let's hope you're more of a Delph than a Djemba-Djemba.
