MessiWillSignForVilla
The Clark thing confused me as well. I thought he was playing well. I think Lambert just likes a big, hulking CB. I think he got "dropped" against Cardiff as Baker is probably better suited to playing against Kenwyne Jones, he played well in that game and rightfully kept his spot, and since then has really flourished and not given Lambert an opportunity to drop him. Watch Lambert go and play Clark to deal with the aerial threat of Crouch now I've said that though
Crumpet
Sigurdsson is a really good shout. He could probably play as an AM or out wide. Maybe Holtby on a years loan? Spurs will surely be shedding some of their squad, they have a ridiculous amount of midfielders in their squad. Think he would be good but this would suggest he is on around 55k a week. Would we be willing to match or improve that?http://www.tsmplug.com/football/tottenham-player-salaries-2014/ Admittedly it doesnt give the source so they may be wrong but seems about right. I looked at the Villa one and seem to be what I expect players to be on, apart from those who were given a new contract...Benteke etc. If we would pay sigurddson that would love him here, but can see him going to Liverpool to be with his old mate Brendan Rodgers. useless
I should think Liverpool will have bigger targets than Sigurddson.

Crumpet
Sigurdsson isn't good enough to start regularly for Liverpool. I would agree but Rodgers had him at Reading...took him to swansea...tried to get him at Liverpool previously so Rodgers must rate him. But I do agree that currently he would have difficulty getting in at the moment.
bose
I think Sigurdsson is the type who would accept lower wages for more playing time. But if he's on 55K per week then he would never go lower than 40K probably. Too much for us? All speculation though.

useless
I think if we are going to spend big on a transfer fee then it would more than likely be on player from a league where the wages are quite low like rather than someone who is already used to Premier wages. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.

GENTLEMAN
Right I think we have a very good foundation to the team now, and looking back now, this is probably what PL has been trying to achieve. Now for next season if we can purchase 3-4 players of top quality, possibly keep Benteke (probably a long shot) then we should hopefully have a better season than this. New CB (cover for injuries) Bertrand DM AM Winger who can play on either side (come on for Gabby or Weimann) I really hope Grealish and Carruthers are sniffing around the first team next year, time one of our young boys took the premiership by storm!! I doubt the funding will be there to sign five players unless we sell Benteke in the summer. I am thinking more 2 - 4 quality players to make a considerable difference to the team. Tayls
I would probably agree with all of those except Ireland and Given. I think Given is on much more than that and I think Ireland was on more also.
Villan4Life
Renew our interest in Serge Aurier? we was linked with him last summer.. pushing Bacuna into Midfield? He would be a good buy depending on how much he would cost. Aurier has scored 5 goals as well this season for a right back so far

P3te
The average is wildly wrong. Just my eyes telling me that mind. The average, by those figures given, is £19.56k per player And the total wages paid per year, according to those figures, is £30.524m So, in summation, the whoever posted that doesn't have a clue how maths works Edited March 19, 2014 by P3te
HanoiVillan
Those numbers certainly don't average to 47,000 per week . . . only 2 of them are over that amount! Those numbers actually average to slightly less than 19,000. Personally suspect both numbers are miles from the truth.

Aurier has scored 5 goals as well this season for a right back so far I'd say Aurier's the full back Bacuna could be if he specialises and improves on his current trajectory, only built like a tank. Desperate to go to Arsenal and if they've got any smarts at all they'll jump at the chance.
Villan4Life
Antoine Griezmann is having a storming season in La Liga, think he has around 15 which is excellent for a winger/playmaker. Doesn't play for one of the fashionable clubs either, could be worth a look? be around 10mil mark though
