It's a double edged sword with Newcastle's support...yes the numbers are good but you could hear on tv they were starting to whine and get on the players backs at 0-0 when Afobe fired over.

Eddie Howe also mentioned it in his post match press conference. Along the lines of keep it 0-0 for first 20 minutes and the crowd would start getting frustrated and demand Newcastle get forward more so they would leave space for Bournemouth to counter attack in and so it proved.

52k is great when things are going well, but your right because i imagine the pressure with that level of support when things are not going well is huge. the geordies for the most part have always been well supported.

It's similar to us really, many of the crowd will remember the mid 90s when Newcastle were a relevant force and really should've won the league and were regularly in the top 4, even 15 years ago under Sir Bobby they were that standard and had a really good team....Given, Woodgate, Solano, Robert, Gary Speed, Bellamy, Shearer so it's a bit hard to understand nowadays the shite they're watching fighting relegation every season so patience will be very thin.

Hounded out big sam when they were top half because they demanded better then got relegated. Did exactly the same with Pardew. Deluded idiots.

Said on talksport yesterday that over the last 12 months they've only scored 3 more points than us.

Benitez is a very good coach and organiser but seems to have lost his way in recent times, his Napoli side's defensive record was awful and Real Madrid have looked very dodgy at the back for most of this season. And then we come to CoColoccini and co...

Looks like Schteve is off

The right decision.  A point off safety with a game in hand (albeit v Citeh) and still 9 games to go.  No point crossing your fingers or waiting another month.  Roll the dice now and see what happens.  A new manager boost might be just the ticket.
