Probably not the best, but because he has great awareness and the heart of a lion, it makes him a top performer, he has come on leaps and bounds the past 18 months. Popular Post LakotaDakota Posted May 12, 2018 Popular Post Share Posted May 12, 2018 I know people keep saying "we can do better than a 34 year old Alan Hutton" but he is better than all of our current LB & RB. There aren't many around that can cover both sides to that sort of standard. Even if he wasn't going to play every week next year having him around as backup for 2 positions would be very handy and even from the bench is effectively frees up another place for another midfielder/forward. terrytini Posted May 12, 2018 Share Posted May 12, 2018 I’ve never been a fan of his, not even in respect of the “ he gives his all” view. But since Bruce switched him to Left Back he has looked a very very good defender. Today he was outstanding. Not just with Traore ( who was a handful but was brilliantly marshalled until he switched sides, then brilliantly marshalled again when Hutton switched) but also from their corners, ( nullified their considerable dead ball threat) and getting forward just enough.
