Unable to sleep and late at night (early morning to be precise), I watched a Bruce Willis film named Cosmic Sin recently.

Now I’ve seen my fair share of shit movies, B-movies that intended to be a bit shit included but this one really topped the charts on utter shite.

I cannot believe it was commissioned and then released. Ordinarily you’d advise anyone to steer clear but in this case, seeing is believing and you just have to watch it to appreciate the utter ineptness of it all.

Want a weird but great movie that shouldn't have been made? Check out Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension.

Agree, loved this. Almost a role he was born to play and Stephen Dorff seems to be aging well too and becoming a fine actor. Great film

That wonky eye of Tim Blake Nelson's wouldn't have worked with any other actor. Always loved his stuff since " Brother Where Art Though '.

Have to say though, the young kids performance annoyed me somewhat.

They're going to make a new one every two years for the next millenium.

And at the end of that, they still won't have made as many Batman movies as the other lot have made Spiderman movies.

The difference is there have actually been 3 really good Batman films.

Spiderman are yet to produce one. Actually that's not true, the animated one was fantastic

Some men choose Batmen, some men choose Spidermen. Others may measure their lives by the number of actors who have portrayed 007.

Myself, I mark the passage of time by the number of dismal Fantastic Four films made. Their relative infrequency makes me feel younger than other metrics.

Probably my only criticism too, too clean cut looking and almost a modern day feel to the character, just didn't fit, the rest though is sublime.

interesting take thanks, personally i hope i disagree with you when i go and see it, because i hated the 1984 version!, although i actually quite liked the Children of Dune mini series with James McAvoy.

I am a huge huge huuuuge fan of the Dune novels, so i was pinning my hopes on this being something special and a truly classic adaptation of the books, from what i have seen in trailers etc i thought the visuals etc looked amazing.

I will soon see i suppose!

As you say, the film is only part one, so we basically have a whole other movie (hopefully) to do over two movies more than what the 1984 version did....will be interesting to see how part 1 and 2 develop the story, and whether it lives up to it.

Same here, although I did quite like the 80's version, in a Lynchian, mad as a box of frogs way!

Was disappointed to hear that the latest version is a two parter, mainly because it builds nicely toward the end.

Well pick which one you think is the worst (I thought they were good) and give the new one a miss. The worst one will be ten times better than the new one.

Interestingly the Daniel Craig Bond movies were routinely showed/rerun on tele in my bit of Canada.

Respectfully disagree on this. I think the new one sits just below Casino Royale (easily my favourite Bond movie, aside from Goldfinger) and Skyfall in the Craig era.

It's very different to others in terms of pacing (much slower), and even the character of Bond, who is also very deliberately different.

But I thought it was a nice arc. People change and so has he.

There were some silly moments which were not in keeping (bionic eyeballs!!?!) but otherwise I am glad I watched it.

You can just say Fantastic Four films, them being dismal is a given.

I can't work out whether Willis or Cage have produced the most dog shit films in recent years. Purely pay cheque movies.

They used to be big stars. Looking at Willis' filmography, most stuff he does now is direct to video.

Although on the flipside, over two movies give much more time to develop the story etc.

Looking at how ita doing ar the vox office, I would be surprised if we didn't see a part 2 now.

I'm hoping to go and see it this week.

Well that was the issue before release wasn't it. If it didn't do well the second one might not have been made. Glad to see it do well. I think we all need a bit of epic escapism right now after the last couple of years.

I think it’s probably Cage, but there’s no doubt in my mind that his shit films are more entertaining than Willis’ shit films.

John Cusack is another actor who I really like but seems happy to just churn out straight to video dross.

Cage went bankrupt so was effectively forced to just do anything willing to pay him. As a result he's basically been constantly working for the past 6 or 7 years, doing any trash he can get, and occasionally finding the odd diamond in shit.

Willis is in at lot of turgid shite for the last decade, but at least he has some classics in his credits list. I'm not sure Cage has ever been in a film I've wanted to watch more than once, and the vast majority are **** shite. His name attached is an indicator of a film to avoid and has been for at least a couple of decades.

The Marriage of Maria Braun -  I liked it.

Wild-Strawberries-a.jpg?resize=675,360&s

WIld Strawberries - I liked it, had the feel of being an old familar favorite even though I hadn't seen it before.

Mouchette - A sad but very good movie, another instant classic.

Willis comes across like a man who's **** his tax return up and needs some quick cash to avoid the IRS

Should have the decency to go to jail rather than do diehard 5

Already released 4 films in 2021, got another 3 to come, 3 next year and another 3 TBC
