The Parapod Movie. Finally released online, I managed to watch it tonight.

And... Well. The Parapod, particularly the first series, is fantastic. It's proper lightning in a bottle stuff. The format is very simple, believer and skeptic, discuss a haunting or paranormal event each episode and it descends into hilarity from there. And it is bloody funny. It's evident that the believer is genuinely interested in the cases and it makes it all the funnier as he's logically taken apart. As the 3 series progress it gets less funny because they lose that, it becomes less genuine, more clearly artifice.

The movie kinda suffers from that same issue. It is still funny, but it's nowhere near what the podcast was. It's kinda not helped by the fact it does retread the same territory of the first series but it's done with the tone of where the second and third series ended up. So it's still funny, but it's not that brilliant thing that it was.

But it's still a funny, silly 90 mins of people pissing about in allegedly haunted places, it's worth your time.

And if you haven't listened to the Parapod, that first series is **** brilliant.

I'd been waiting for this for ages but was a wee bit underwhelmed by it in the end. I think I just find Boldsworths attitude and delivery as a little too smug and condescending to be enjoyable now.

Still, impressed with what they produced as independent film makers and such an unlikely concept - I genuinely though the y were joking when they talking in the podcast about turning it into a movie so fair play.

On an unrelated note, I watched Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at the weekend with my kid and it was brilliant. Couple more penis jokes than I would have expected for a family film however !

Scream (2022)

Loved the first 3.

This looks decent...

I thought 4 > 3 but each to their own.

The Scream movies are a big thing in my household so I dare say all four of us will be booking tickets for this one.

I've just looked up 3 and I may have misremembered. First 2 I loved, I know that!

Saw the first 2 at the cinema... it was that era of self aware horror wasn't it... I Know What You Did Last Summer and Faculty are two others I remember.

Do they have meetings where they say “We can make it so everyone who mentions ‘Scream’ will HAVE to say ‘Scream 1996’ or ‘no, not that Scream, the first Scream movie’ for distinction from now on. Shall we do that? Make it awkward for the movie going public?”

Spoiler

“Yeah, let’s.” is seemingly the answer.

Same here. I thought they did a fantastic job with the first one so have high hopes for this one. Even with all the tons of horror movies I have watched, this is still my favorite franchise.

I am basically without telly until Saturday and as a result am at the mercy of dvds from a charity shop. Today I watched Legally Blonde 2. Jesus Christ and the wee donkey it's bad. So utterly bad.

Can you not just watch stuff on your phone? You can often then cast it onto a TV as well.

2 of us and suggested we watch stuff on my phone, that was met with nope. Don't have a great signal either or a way to cast to a telly. I am in Cumbria in my motorhome hence me having limited options.

Oh well. Thought I'd suggest it. On the plus side I do hear Legally Blonde 2 gets really good on the 12th view.

Planning on watching the new Bond movie in a couple of weeks but want to watch the ones before again. Seems like Netflix, prime and sky don’t have them unless you are willing to pay extra. Frustrating. Have about 5 different subs and none of them allow me to watch the bond movies. No wonder people stream!

Looks interesting. I'll probably watch it as loved the first one and had a huge crush on Neve Campbell when I was younger.

There's a fair amount of botox on show in the trailer though and who still has a land-line plugged in nowadays?

Bond tomorrow for me.

I wasn't really looking forward to it at all given Spectre was so devastatingly dull, but the reviews seem generally positive putting it very much on the Casino Royale / Skyfall side of Craig's Bonds as opposed to the QoS / Spectre side

So all of a sudden I'm quite excited
