Xela
I'm sure Unai has a plan. Keep it steady, then unleash Bailey and Archer after an hour and have them running at tired legs.
AshVilla
Why is McGInn starting to get back into the team.
Lord Willard
Just shows the lack of depth in the wide positions. Dunno what our last manager was thinking loaning ALL our wide players. Nothing you can do if players have injuries or niggles. Emery has picked the best team available.

If Emery continues to select him and McGinn continues to be below par, I anticipate some criticism, yes. Second league game, we still are very much in clean slate territory. Mantis
I trust Emery. He must have his reasons for starting McGinn. It may not work but at least you know it's not out of favouritism as it was with Gerrard.

One thing that is certain there will be plan. Similar approach to the first half vs Man Utd I suspect pack the midfield and play a block.

I'd wonder if we were going to play possession based football. But that idea goes out the window with inclusion of McGinn.
BleedClaretAndBlue
Going to need massive games from JJ and Buendia. Its a big fat shame we cant see the same XI as last Sunday!

Popular Post supermon
It must be Luiz and Kamara as the holding two, with buendia and Ramsey on the flanks and McGinn as 10, that's his role with Scotland further up the pitch so may just work Edited November 13, 2022 by supermon
danceoftheshamen
Ok ....so it is what it is I guess. If they're ill then what can you do? Will just have to pick things up after the World cup. Shame though as it would have been interesting to see how we did today against the in form team of the division. Sadly I can only see another heavy defeat now as we surely won't be able to get out with no pace & McGinn constantly giving the ball away too. Easy day for Brighton incoming I fear. Moderator OutByEaster? Posted November 13, 2022 Moderator Share Posted November 13, 2022 How have Brighton ended up with a 23 year old full Argentinian international central midfielder that's in their world cup squad for less than £10m?

Mac Allistar, Caicedo and Gross are quite a decent midfield trio, this is a good test for us to see where our midfield stacks up against them.
