Can't go blowing big money (and another long contract) on a high-profile defender when our main guy will be back next season (or possibly even the end of this season). It's tidy. I do actually like him as a player but not sure he's good enough to be first choice for where we're aiming for. But given the situation with Carlos getting injured I can understand we may not be in the position to get a player like that. Can't get mad at it, even if I can't get excited by it. Barely played him, then said he would defo get playing time once he signed a contract and then promptly played him for zero minutes. Trust goes when your manager does that.
