    If Bailey had been sold - I very much doubt too many of us would have cared - so I think you are being harsh. Football fans the world over are fickle - myself included, I still think Bailey has work to do, but I rate Zaniolo - how does this work ? Diaby is a good player imo and I believe he will come through

    Well that is a debatable point in itself - I think Paul McGrath is as good a defender that has ever been - imo

    I think you make a very good point and this is probably down to how they view themselves, coupled with the desire to be starting games.

    No you are 100 % per cent correct - but he and Gary were both better than Ollie and that is no slight whatsoever on him.

    I really hope we can get something today - but fear that the pre Christmas form has already faded and unlikely to return this season. I think Kamara’s presence could have helped greatly today. I like his mentality It would be fantastic to get something and heap more pressure on spuds going into their game with Arsenal. We know Spuds don’t have a easy run in and if we can put some day light between us, that they then have to sit on for two weeks, this could feed into anxiety ahead of the Gooners clash. But a demoralising result today - might just see us run out of steam for the run in. I would also be very tempted to start Diaby today

    I absolutley want to keep him, there are very fine margins in elite football and right now, I would acknowledge that he is on the wrong side of these margins - however I have seen enough to believe that he will cross over to the right side of these margins. I think anyone who has played competitive football regardless of the level, will have gone through periods when nothing goes quite right? I think next season he starts ( that’s if he is here)

    Yes I feel the same - If Ollie’s first touch improves as you say, it could catapult him into elite status among the very best strikers of this era on an international level.

    Yes I agree with this assessment - but in fairness it’s something that could be levelled at the majority of wingers throughout the ages.

    That’s a big call to say that he is a better passer of the ball, than Buendia imo. I have always thought of Buendia as being capable of unlocking any defence. I am not saying this will always be the case but right now, I think Buendia is a much better footballer.

    You know what - Sid is not our greatest post war player, this is Paul, who is also our greatest ever player imo - but just to even have Sid in the conversation, just shows how highly we think of him. Absolute Villa legend - just does not even do justice to Sid.

    Totally agree - let’s be fair Toney is not a bad player at all, Personally I just don’t care for him, in regards to his attitude and think Ollie deserves his seat on the plane over Toney but I would be tempted to take all three tbh.

    Many Villa fans thought that Sticks was awful, but through sheer hard work and dedication, he eventually won the support of most fans. Did ok in the end - total opposite to Callaghan

    Totally agree - Trez dreadful footballer. AEG defo had a bit of something about him, just so very inconsistent
