See how much easier it is playing likes of Southampton when we come out wide awake and score early instead of gifting a goal to them? Then they have to open up a bit and we exploited the space brilliantly, should've scored more than four today.

Reminded me of Derby at home in the promotion season. Declared at four.

Loads of good performances today, Broja is a good striker but barely had a kick v Mings and yes brilliant ball from Chambers for the second. Cash was brilliant today. Easily best link up between Ings and Watkins aswell, wouldn't have had any issue if they were doing that six months ago.

If we want to be seriously in contention for europa next season we have to sign Coutinho full time. He ensures we win 2-3 more home games next season than we generally do on average as they couldn't get near him all afternoon.

Excellent performance. Some of the football was superb. Coutinho is from another planet. Could (should) have had a hat trick. Some of his overall play was unreal. The skill composure and awareness are brilliant. 

Love it when it all comes together. 

Ings looked like Danny Ings today. Quality on the ball and hungry. Lovely finish for his goal and 2 good assists. 

Long may it continue. 

Oh, and the subs of Sanson, Bailey and Buendia… strength in depth!

Coutinho gives me feelings.

My wife watched the game with me and made the following two observations:

On Coutinho: “I liked his little dance”

On Aston Villa: “You don’t usually play this well do you. Why is that?”

Cant really argue with any of that.

Coutinho is going to be different gravy when he really settles!

Some of his touches are really something else but you can tell he's rusty, give him a couple of months and those flicks and touches are going to be unplayable. 

I am really excited.

The other thing of special note is how much of a difference a goal does to Watkins play. Its not just his effort but he seems able to predict the game better.

To have him score early today settled the game for us.

Finally really good to see so many different players involved in the goals, this will do everyone the world of good!

Coutinho MOTM

just such a class operator. Exciting, intricate, direct, always on the move with give and go’s. Looks really happy and lights up Villa Park in the way it deserves to be.

Thought Watkins had a good game, looks like he’s found some confidence again; great turn and finish.

pleased for Ingsy, great finish from him with a couple of assists aswell. Both forwards on the scoresheet always feels nice.

Beating one of the form sides 4-0 and could feasibly have had 7 is very encouraging, especially having to have a reshake at the back. Well done Stevie G & the players. UTV
