I'm spotting shenanigans here!

Juventus need to sell players and the options are drying up. It wouldn't be the worst idea to link one of your players to a team thats seemingly looking for a 6 and spending money.

I somehow don't think this will be the last link either!

It’s coming from our side though. Tom Collomosse (sp) who broke it seems to be close to the club with the news he’s broken over the last 12 months.

If anything it’s shenanigans from us to push Bissouma. Or, Bissouma isn’t happening and this is plan B.

I'll be damned if I take the opinions of fans about their players. As we see even on here, there's always 1 or 2 scapegoats. Also never forget Traore-gate. Lyon fans made it sound like we were signing the next N'Zogbia, and then he joins and gets 7 goals 8 assists in his first season.

It probably won't be an uncommon occurence if we're truly looking for undervalued players.  It makes sense that some of the players we go after may not be the most highly rated by their own fans.

Yes. To persuade players at Barca or Juve to join mid-table Villa means there’s going to be a wrinkle somewhere. Question is whether our staff think they can iron it out. With Coutinho it’s confidence, with this guy it might be something different. For £16M it’s probably worth finding out.

Agreed. Gerrard wants proven winners and that means looking at players from the top teams in Europe. It seems a strategy of the club to try and take advantage of the financial situation at some of these clubs.

Does that mean we can go and sign their best players in our situation. Of course not, they would still be hugely expensive and reluctant to join us no matter how much potential we think we have. So players will come with a wrinkle as you say.

Or we were never in for Bissouma and that was Sky talk

Mad to think we were a mid table championship side only a few years ago and now some of our fans are sticking their noses up at a player who pretty much starts for Juventus every game*

*Calm down, I know.

No idea if this guy is reliable but he’s got 185k followers.

Feels like this one has got legs. Will be interesting to see how he adds to the side. A lot of competition now for those midfield spots.

Think people are disappointed primarily because they thought we were in for Bissouma. Maybe we were, maybe the deal was too much or he’s holding out for a top 4 move in the summer. Either way this guy clearly has ability and a track record at the top level to go with it. Exciting to see how he takes to the PL.

I'd imagine he's got the sort of mentality SG wants, someone who's played at the highest level with a bit of arrogance backed up with skill. If all he needs is a platform to perform then that's definitely us. Sign him up.

He's very experienced player at 24. Lots of international caps and has won trophies with Juventus. We now have Martinez, Luiz, Young, Digne and possibly Bentancur who've all won trophies. We need that experience

Agreed. Not long ago we had mid-field players like Bjarnason, Whelan and Lansbury in our squad not forgetting McCormack and Hogan up front! As we go forward some we sign will be good at CL level (once we are there) others will just help us on our way then replaced - just like ElGhazi.

He’s a bit of a tap-in merchant when it comes to transfers, however he’s usually all over it and only adds flames to the fire.

I’m not sure on this Bentancur chap. Seems VT is divided on him.

I wouldn’t trust us, lunatics running the asylum springs to mind … I see him as a natural progression signing adding quality and depth to the middle of the park and still leaves space for the mythical specialist DM

If this had been 2 years ago there would be meltdown and clamor on here for this signing. He was amazing for Juventus under Sarri who incidentally played a more fluid version of Gerrard's narrow double 10 system.

If we sign him, we add significant experience and a further winner to our squad as some have said already.

He also sounds like he needs a clean break and fresh start, as the Juve fans can be a bloody hostile lot once they turn on you.

Juve fans are like many fans wherever you go: not very objective.

We could have signed prime Messi and VT would have been divided.
