We have a really good chance in our next 3 with Newcastle now listing key players out. Saying Almiron, Saint Max and Wilson all injured. Sheff U with key injuries too I believe. And Wolves lacking goals.

Was just about to post. Sheff Utd without the 1st choice back 3. If we could possibly pick up 9 points leading into the Spurs game we would be on very good footing.

We have as good a chance as a few clubs to get top 4, better than most for European football. Like anyone we’ll need a little luck with injuries to help us, but we’re as well placed as anyone to give it a good shot. It’d be nice to have caught up with our games in hand before the end of March so we can see exactly where we stand going into the home straight, we always seem to have been a step behind this season. If we could get 6pts from our next 2 fixtures then it’s very much game on for top 4, especially with 4 fixtures against Everton and Spurs  still to come. It’ll be vital to not lose ground to either of those two, we have Chelsea at VP to come as well. We could do with West Ham hitting some sticky form.

thankfully we aren't missing our best player and first choice right back

( but yes we do have a great chance )

I reckon equivalent injuries would be Jack, Ollie and Traore. They are seriously going to struggle to score!

No excuses not to beat Sheff Utd and Newcastle. Wolves might be tricky but huge opportunity for us here to get maximum points. Really hope Jack isnt out too long.

DS was saying Jack might be out on training pitch end of the week so outside chance he might make Wolves game.

Not good enough to get into Europe, too inconsistent, two points from four games five games against Brighton, Burnley and Sheffield United is a woeful return for a team that supposedly has pretensions of challenging for the top seven. I can only think it must be mentality thing.

This hasn't been likely at all for about 2 months.

It's just a nice stress free nothing season. We're on the beach.

Loser mentality.

Players should have been at it and smelled blood. Be brutal, giving SU no hopes for survival.

Exactly that

One of the very rare stress free seasons we will have, give ourselves the platform to progress again next year

Hopefully we beat the baggies, wolves and geordies again plus dick manu 8-0 but other than that just see it for what it is and enjoy it

Not going even going to glance at the league table until May. Can't bear getting your hopes up one week and then frustration the next.

Thing is, the Champions League is the only Euro competition worth being in and we were never gonna get that this season.

The Europa League is such a long winded format, we'd have to start on like June and we don't have enough depth to have a tilt at it and maintain a decent League position. I'd rather not be in Europe at all than be in it and lose to some village team from Kazakhstan cos' we field a bunch of kids.

It's now all about fending off any interest in Jack, adding 1 or 2 better players in certain areas and giving the top 4 a crack next season, which is still very hopeful and probably a pipe dream.

Stats time.

  • Our first 13 games returned an average PPG of 1.92 (ie: Champions League qualification form)
  • Our last 12 games returned an average PPG of 1.16 (ie: a 44 point season and just avoiding a relegation scrap)
  • If we continue the form over the last 12 games, at season end we will be on roughly 54 points.
  • The massive discrepancies between our form in the first half of this season, versus the second half.....are striking!
