I understand that Buendia agreed to a further 12 months, hence his ability to join us now.

Players, who have never played for us are nothing more than opinions......Personally, I have a good feeling about this one.

You could formulate any amount of permutations of argument, like Why did Arsenal not go for Benrahma, but went for Buendia?

We need to see him play, to be sure, but his stats and video's are very impressive.....not to mention the general consensus of opinion outside B6.

There are many factors that contribute to a setting of a transfer fee and an example......John McGinn's fee and many other midfielders of his calibre, wouldn't make much sense.

The price of anything, is determined by what someone is willing to pay.

I’m going to be clear on this. I’d have preferred Benrahma over Traore last year but Traore impresses at times.

So unless Beundia plays centrally, the cumulative cost of our RW is going to be twice what we could have got Benrahma for.

Now if billionaires (real ones vs Dr Broke) are prepared to take that hit then that’s fine.

Anwar El Gazi did very little in terms of contribution for us last season. He score 4 penalties but that is a specialist duty not part of open play so we exclude that as I'm sure Jack is as good as him at them.

So he scored 6 goals and had zero assists across 18 Prem starts and another 10 sub appearances. This was his 2nd season in Prem. That's about 0.28 goal contributions per 90 mins

Compare that to Bert who score 7 and assisted 7 in 28 starts and 6 sub appearances, that's about 0.44 goal contributions per 90.

Buendia and Jack are much higher in terms of stats.

If you look at our team from last season, we are removing low contributors like AEG, Trez and Barkley from the team and replacing with higher contributing players.

Everybody at any time is for sale at Norwich so try again on that front.

I’d love to know the criteria for those chances created though given that Pukki is known for his finishing.

Even Rashica?

I think the penny is finally dropping outside of B6 now.

This project has legs and it is being viewed as such.

Jack is central to it all too, so why we are having to endure the constant speculation of him moving on is desperate from them.

Comes with the territory doesn’t it? Find it best to completely ignore the speculation and rumours, why would he want to leave now when we are kicking on and getting better and better? And he’s getting paid handsomely…

I don’t think about it, just happy to see us keep improving and I’m sure Jack feels the same… we may me able to realise some of his dreams in the not too distant future. The allure of playing in European games and potentially winning a trophy with your boyhood club has got to be huge…

Really surprised Rashica went to Norwich, were there literally no other clubs in for him!?!?

Buendia is a good player, but he's definitely being overrated by some, I've even seen comments like suggesting our other players can learn from him in training as if he's some sort of galactico that's won everything there is to win the game, and that we couldn't have signed better short of signing a world class player.

It's getting to the point where it feels unfair on him, because if he doesn't live up the expectations there will be an unfair backlash.

For the money he cost all needs to do is better than what we've already got and improve us as a team to be a good signing.

Also maybe we signed him this summer because we think he's improved, we signed both Watkins and Cash based on their form in the championship.

I think fans have varing levels of conviction.....nothing wrong with that.

some see the potential of a great player for us.....others see it as a decent signing......its all about levels of surety, it varies with personalities.

Nah, we decided to pay 3x as much for Beundia. Championship better than Bundesliga.

i mean, this isnt a comment on Buendia, Buendia is class.

I just mean for 10m why wouldnt we consider him as a squad option.

Somewhat ironic that Rashica allegedly didn't want to come to us last season as he didn't want to be in a relegation battle and that is exactly what he's just got himself into.

All after being relegated this past season as well.

Choices.

My only issue with some of these " signings " is that they all seem to be tiny, and almost guaranteed their skill graphic has " Weakness: Aerial duels " lol.

Our new tactics must revolve around centre of gravity.

Although, if you've got enough skill, size is less of a factor.

Sander Berge @ 6.5  makes sense from that POV as a target… Also with improvements in plyometric training and fitness height is less of an issue (though obviously helps) in terms of aerial ability. Just remember Alan Wright - legend

You said you would prefer Benrahma to Buendia because Buendia isn't proven in the Premier and only has a handful of goals/assists.

Because we're getting someone better from Argentina for a little bit more.

Billionaires are no more interested in losing money than me and you......the only difference is, they have the wherewithal to lose it....we don't.

further more they surround themselves with industry specialists that lower the odds of them getting it wrong....but its still not infallible as testimony shows around the Industry.

We all have our own personal opinions on players, hence this site......but the only ones that matter is Dean Smiths.
