  1. They do but that kind of relevant information never seems to filter its way through to the debate. I mean I see Alvarez as a sub to Watkins, play as a RW alternative to Traore. (Think AEG may get sold) ESR would only ever play AM, and even then he’d be lucky to play there over Jack or Beundia.

I do t think you understand the word form. It’s like maths and subsets and the like if you remember. The point is the two expressions overlap. But logically, I find it hard to believe if you live in a largely white society and you hate your neighbouring largely white society that you then won’t have a beef if about your non-white minority. But hey, that’s not just me saying that, just look at the history books.

Don’t chicken out, you decided to make a stand against the racism angle that Tyrone was absolutely right to highlight and now you’ve gone into your shell.

That is such a stupid statement….BUT your stats is probably bang on. Right now it’s not the 10% true racists we need to be worried about first - let the police deal with them - it’s the 90% idiot RACISTS that should be in the firing line.

I think it’s true that social media apps give them their last remaining platform to be loud mouthed gobshites. But racism is far more than this sad pathetic minority.

I disagree and I’m a white male in his late 40’s who would probably be considered as coming from a privileged background. Racism is endemic and institutionalised across our society and others. And I am ashamed that it still exists in the 21st century. Its generally played out as white versus black or white versus brown, but there are nuances that shouldn’t be ignored. And not for one moment am I excusing the white vs black/brown…….it’s disgusting…. but there is brown vs black too. The amount of poor black labour used in the Middle East is ridiculous. I wonder what Priti Patel’s view on taking the knee (which I support wholeheartedly) would be if the Indian Cricket team had done it in a test match….or teams in the IPL did it. All I can say is Tyrone is a hero for taking on Priti Patel.
  7. Golovin certainly looks like a player…..but a crazy stat is that only 8 Russians have appeared in the Premier League so we would be certainly taking a risk if we did sign him.
  8. He’s a true no.10 who can play ST or RW in a way Traore just can’t.

    Emile Smith Rowe

I’m saying that Jack took a bullet for the club playing LW and that might change after he’s being ignored by Beaky by playing LW.

Nick and Kiwi, just because Jack played LW last season and gets boxed in that position by Beaky doesn’t mean that’s where he wants to play. Jack’s England prospects go up a notch if he’s a direct rival to Mount. Also we can’t stick a 20 year old kid as AM, it would be mad given we have both Jack and EMI II that can play there. But on the LW position where he frequently operates (even though he’s not actually playing there)….i can really see that.

It’s been said before no doubt but if ESR signs, either Jack is off or Jack moves central flanked by ESR and Beundia.

I think what we’ve shown with Jack and other players is that if they deserve it they get a new contract at the end of the season. We’re not going to be offering him more than Watkins, more like £50k a week tops but with the certainty he plays and if he does well that could double in two years.
  13. Posted this on another thread. I know this isn’t the Academy or U23 thread but you have to admire the club’s new strategy of bringing in the best youngsters they can. I mean, we won the FA Youth Cup last season and a lot of clubs would have sat back and thought we’ve saved £50m+. But what have we done? We’ve said that’s gone now and we’ve signed Feeny, Pierre, Burchall and (up the age range) Tim Ironbrew (). What those 4 signings mean is that every player in that U18 squad will be looking over their shoulder as to whose coming through and that’s easily the best way to get the best out of the players that did win the FA Youth Cup.

  15. Sorry, I forgot this thread is about players we don’t sign……
  16. I agree totally but when have any of the BMail journos had any reliable sources at the club. It’s a comic paper.
  17. Does Arjani Burchall count as a signing? https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/ajani-burchall-aston-villa-transfer-21017277 Okay he’s not Rashica but that’s because he’s probably quite good.
  18. I’ve mentioned Morgan Rogers before. Played alongside Louie Barry. Both departed WBA at the same time. Barry to Barca, Rogers to Citeh. If we could buy Rogers outright (rather than it being somehow linked to Jack sale) then that would be fantastic.
  19. If we’re not offering enough then Newcastle have zero chance of getting him. Probably Watford too.
  20. I’d take Alvarez in a shot as he can play AM/ST as well as RW. We just need to take the occasional bet on a player and for the reported £15m he would be a bargain. And with both Emi’s in our squad - plus Wes, Luiz - the risk of him not settling should be much less. As for ESR, I’d only want him if there was a genuine intent to build a team around Jack and not as an insurance policy.
  21. I love transfer speculation…..or identifying targets…..as much as anyone. I could reel off 20 players I’d love Villa to sign and Boubacar Kamara would be one of them. However, all the noises coming out of VP is we’re looking for players tried and tested in Premier League/Champs.Beundia, Webcam, Tammy, Axel, JWP etc From DS’s perspective that’s perfectly understandable given traumatic first season back in the Prem where he struggled to get a tune out of all our new signings. DS, the owners and CEO know that if we keep Jack we’re on the cusp of breaking into the top 6 with some intelligent signings. So they’re simply not going to blow £150m on overseas talent this year as much as maybe I’d like them to.
  22. Has anyone at the BMail rag EVER had a well connected relationship with the media?
  23. Agree with everything you say but if his talent trajectory continue I see him as being as good as Pogba potentially.
  24. I personally don’t see the obsession of bringing in another CM/DCM ahead of either back up ST or CB. Now depending who we play as AM, we have two CM slots up for grabs and we have SJM, Luiz, Sansom, Nakamba and Ramsey. So unless SJM gets pushed up into AM or Ramsey goes out on loan we have 5 CMs fighting for two spots. But even if we do get another one in I wouldn’t spend silly money. Berg, Sarr or even Will Hughes. I know we’ve been linked to JWP - and I think he’s be great - but I wouldn’t want to see that transfer as spending Jack’s transfer fee.
