I adore Emi and more importantly he is a top class goalkeeper, they don't come along every day and it's so heartening to see him commit his long-term future. Also loved hearing in the interview that his little boy absolutely loves the club and comes along to every game. It's so important for these top players to have a settled family who love the area and most importantly love the Villa almost as much as we do. The fact a world class player like Emi signs a contract for that long shows our intent and fantastic behind the scenes setup. He knows what’s going on and believes in us. keeping a consistent goalie is so important. One of the best in the game and such a fantastic person. Players don’t just want to come here now, they want to stay here for a long time. This isn’t just a contract, it’s a commitment from the heart. There may be bigger clubs and more successful clubs, but there are no greater clubs on the planet. Players initially see the great facilities, the iconic stadium but it’s only after they’ve been here a while and truly felt the club and what it means that they fall in love.
