briny_ear
Seeing his explanation of the celebration, my mind went back to Cantona at Selhurst Park. Lucky for that Brentford fan (and us) that Ollie chose a less direct response. Edited December 17, 2023 by briny_ear

"f ollie watkins ruined his legacy at brentford." "A broken leg for him before the Euros would give me a bit of satisfaction." "Watkins ain't the brightest. Watch some of his interviews. Thick as cow dung" https://griffinpark.org/forums/threads/ollie-watkins-aston-villa.134143/page-25 No worse than the kind of shite that gets posted on here.
VillaAlex
To be honest in the moment I can see why Brentford fans are annoyed at him, hopefully the mellow down as he meant no harm and was a great servant for them. Great goal, love to see him score more with his head recently.
Popular Post Indigo
Have no issue with a player giving a bit back, can never wrap my head around the pathetic hypocrisy of certain fans that think they're entitled to say as they please and then clutch their pearls if they catch anything in return. Not like Watkins at all either so can believe his account of things. He did well today anyway, it's a thankless task for a striker in a game like that really where you're playing against 3 big centre backs content to sit on the edge of the box but he capitalised brilliantly when a chance came his way and linked the play very well at other points. 16 goals and assists in 17 games this season in the league, what a player he is.
Popular Post Rugeley Villa
Best we’ve had in a long time, his goals obviously but his overall play is superb. Edited December 17, 2023 by Rugeley Villa

rodders0223
Anybody that doesn't celebrate when scoring against their former club is a proper melt and anybody that loses their shit at any player, regardless of if they played for you or not, celebrating needs to get a grip.

Popular Post Mark Albrighton Posted December 17, 2023 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted December 17, 2023 I’ve always been of the opinion that players and managers are well within their right to give a bit back to supporters who are giving them a hard time. That doesn’t mean they can kung fu kick anyone or throw a coin back in the general direction of whence it came. But pointedly staring, essentially saying “how d’ya like this turn of events, mate?” at some prick who has been giving a player shit all game is well within the limits for me.

Yup, people and fans, almost seem to forget that these lads are humans too, and not just performing jesters to treat how we please.
Rightdm00
Will end his Villa career as the greatest PL striker to play for us. Just every match he comes up with whatever we need.
Pongo Waring
You've just got to appreciate him really. Seeing Nunez and Højlund Flop just makes us lucky to have Watkins at our club. Consistent Striker.
