Make or break for him this season I think - needs to play regularly for Stockport and bag at least double figures…

Not sure he needs double figures just a good showing might do, does feel like last roll of the dice though.

Quote

The 20-year-old was one of the club’s top targets this summer, with County having fought off interest from numerous other sides to secure his services.

Director of Football, Simon Wilson said:

“We are delighted to secure Louie for the upcoming season, and feel he will add attributes we do not have in the group. He is an outstanding one v one player who can scare the life out of defenders. We want to be a team that has different types of tools to win games; this was something we felt we needed, and we believe Louie is one of the best around.”

First-Team Manager, Dave Challinor said:

“We’ve had to be really patient, but that’s been rewarded by Louie now being at the club. He was our top target in his position, and for him and Aston Villa to choose us as his next destination is really pleasing.

“He’ll link up again with Ibby, something they did well at Salford last season and will have a familiar face to help him settle in. Louie is a dribbler, an exciting, pacey forward who has the ability to beat players and will certainly get people of their seats. We are really looking forward to working with him and anticipate him having a real impact within the squad.”

Some good comments there. Hopefully this one works out.

He's just turned 20. Where is the logic in just letting him go?

Its almost like the professionals that our owners spent a lot of time and money assembling know what they're doing...

Those that work with him every day see something, us fans that don't don't, every danger he doesn't make it but the cost of keeping him on the books to see if he does isnt massive so there's no risk for the club

Just trust the club and the process and it's hard as villa fans but be happy and dare I say it supportive, weird foreign concept of supporters supporting

Good luck Louie, hopefully he smashes it this year has had some tough luck.

It's probably an extra year, so if he does OK (or not) we get a fee for him next year. Or... He smashes it, and we give him another extension and a shot at a League 1 loan and so on.

Young  players develop at very different rates, most of us had never heard of Cameron Archer 2 years ago at 19-20yo and Louie just turned 20 a few weeks ago, there's no reason he can't have a big rise too.

Yeah it's unlikely but Archer had just failed to impress at Solihull Moors. So if Louie is in League 2 a year older, that's fine, let's give the kid a chance.

It's not his fault he came to us from Barcelona and has had the fans attention more than most of the youth products

Very good to see he's been given a new contract, should give him a boost knowing the club still has confidence in him.

His stats in League Two are pretty decent, eight goals and two assists in twenty-two games worth of football, and worth remembering that he plays more as a winger, that's pretty good going for a teenager as he was, playing senior football at professional level, it's a much tougher level than most players his age are playing at, it's not as if he's got this age and has only been playing U21 football.

If he has good first half to the season might be moved up a level in January.

Stockport will be one of the favourites for the title - I imagine maybe second to Wrexham in the odds.

He's going there to try and get them over the line after they came close last season, so it's a "step up" in loan really despite being in the same league as before.

Archer played in the national league without pulling up trees and then suddenly pushed on. Give the guy a chance.

That was Archers first Loan. Barry has had a bunch of loans already.
