jacketspuds
Would at least free up a squad space for Ross Barkley.
ciggiesnbeer
If its a choice I would sooner have Douglas Luis at this club than Gerrard. It would be madness to let him go. He isnt like Chuck, he doesnt have an attitude problem. He just wants to play in position.
tezzaleed
if it happens then vote with your feet. I won't be going to a villa match until gerard leaves now.

Demitri_C
Dont blame him. Gerarrd has treated him horribly. Doesnt play him then subs him after a impressive game in weekend depsute another cm being absymal. Don't worry if he goes we have sanson to call on. Oh wait

I’d be much less concerned about losing Luiz for nothing than I was for Chuk, as hell actually play a vital part for the year.
Popular Post Chindie Posted August 30, 2022 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted August 30, 2022 I wouldn't blame him wanting to go, but if we let him go now we've completely lost our minds.
Popular Post TomC
If he leaves, and we don't have someone else lined up, we're in big, big trouble. That would mean a Kamara-Ramsey-McGinn midfield for the rest of the season, and we all know how well a midfield with Ramsey and McGinn works (it doesn't). We would have only Tim as cover given that Sanson is frozen out. Even if Dougie wants out, I'd rather play him all year and let him leave on a free at the end of the season than take £20m and get stuck with that midfield situation.
PieFacE Posted August 30, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted August 30, 2022 Yeah unless we have a replacement lined up it would be utterly bonkers to accept that offer. Even if he does refuse to sign a new deal. Our midfield has looked at its best with Luiz playing. It's just a shame Gerrard seems to fail to see that. foreveryoung
He wasn't happy being subbed against West Ham. He was looking like our best player at the time too. Utter clueless this Gerrard guy.
StefanAVFC
Was looking like he’d stay. I imagine after being subbed against West Ham was the final straw. Really don’t blame him. Stevie G is easily the worst manager in our recent history.

sharkyvilla
Surely we wouldn't be daft enough to let him go a couple of days before the end of the window?

rbcuk
If he goes I just can’t watch a season of ramsey and McGinn, we will be fighting relegation if it’s them 2 in midfield with kamara
Awol
Agent Gerrard. Edit: Tim is going to get a lot of minutes this season. Hope he’s ready for it. Edited August 30, 2022 by Awol
Indigo
One of the best sides in Europe in recent years willing to pay £20 million+ for a player that Villa somehow don't see fit to start most weeks. Couldn't make it up.
