Think he's a brilliant defender and I still thoroughly disagree that he was carried by JT last season which made him look good. He was playing in a defence where he was one of 3 rb's. It's not hard to see why he was so ropey for a few games. He's been a very solid player for us since he signed. His confidence must have hit rock bottom. I do wonder if the club knew about Chesters knee problems last summer or whether he got injured during the season. Now I think our best pair is Mings and Hause. From what I’ve seen of Axel since he has returned I think our best centre half pairing could be Mings and Axel. I love the way they are both able to bring the ball forward plus there will be a good balance of right sided and left sided defender. I like Hause better as a defender, which is what we need most. We started the season with practically no defence and 4 right backs. If someone told me last July not to worry as you will be in the playoff final in May I would have said they were smoking Spice!
