New manager

Cmon, it's gonna be garde - no compo, ligue 1 experience to match our new players, arsenal connections, current employer saying he is in advanced talks, trent saying it will be him, bookies saying he is clear favourite. Just want it done fast so we can get cracking and to stop stooppid media stories about dwight and gus etc.

I just really don't see us sacking someone with only half a season PL experience, to replace him with someone with none. Theres just to many millions at stake. Randy will want the best bloke to get us 17th and secure his TV money.

Mark Warbuton wouldn't be a bad shout.

Would he want to leave Rangers?

Part of me wonders if anyone of sound mind would come here!

Rangers is a big job, but it's still lower league football. I think he'd come.

Warbuton!  Its punts on lower league foder that has got us where we are.  Managing in the league Rangers is in now is like managing in the conference

Really? Who have we taken from a lower league club (other than the ginger one)?

I think Warburton would be a very effective premier league manager and expect him to demonstrate this in the next couple of years. What he did at Brentford was nothing short of miraculous and he appears to have had exactly the same impact at Rangers. His training is meticulous and his players run through brick walls for him. He was a little bit one-dimensional tactically at Brentford but I think he learned from that and has become a better manager. He'd definitely get my vote.

I think he has done a great job at Rangers, it's not just them winning games it's how they are winning that really catches the eye. I know some people say the Rangers job is easy but it really isn't. His work at Brentford was really good too, he seems to have a bit about him

Even though I am not confident he would work here, I would not be against appointing Garde as manager. I'd rather we took a gamble on him that someone like Warburton or even worse, give the job to Poyet!

Having worked with Houllier and Wenger, would we be seeing a lot more of the passing out from the back stuff that has frightened the life out of us previously? If so, we could see more of the mistakes that we saw Amavi and Lescott make as a result of the throw-outs from Guzan, unless he brings a goalie who can pass better.

For schizzle, but we know Randy likes the chaos option when it comes to managers.

But Sherwood wasn't sacked because he lacked experience, he was sacked because he was a moron that was getting us relegated through sheer incompetence. If anything, hiring Sherwood shows the board care less about experience and more about who they can get on the cheap, which would point to Garde.

Should we appoint Iain Dowie or Steve Kean they have PL experience.

It'll be Garde and now they will be looking at bringing in his backroom team from Lyon which will be a tough ask.

How so?

I think they're still at Lyon.

Even so I would have thought it would be reasonably simple. If they want to leave then I see no reason why Lyon would want to keep a hold of them. If they are happy there then we'll need to resolve it another way.

Yorke wants the job hahahahahahahahaha

Yorke did raise  agood point though. Not saying I want him but he said whats the point of young coaches like him doing their badges when no-one will give them an opportunity. I would not oppose any ex-villians coming in as coaches as at least I know they care about the club. Hopefully one day see Laursen in the club in some capacity

As he departed Brentford due to the player recruitment issue, would he come to Villa?

different scenario, the brentford lot are full on stats mad - using algorithims etc to judge performance and results. Different to a club who just have a holistic preference for affordable talent who can be sold on profitably.

they can have an opportunity, but like anyone starting a new profession - you don't get to start at the fecking top! Work your way up. Sherwood had no proper managerial experience barring a caretakers role where all he had to do was given an embarrassing Mike Bassett speech every week to fire them up without having to have any nous for long term tactics or planning. He would have had time to learn that shit in the lower leagues, but then he also wouldn't have been given such a high profile either which would no doubt have put him off

Lower leagues are there for him to prove his managerial abilities.
