One for the colour chart, “Middle Eastern looking” so we know it’s not a mental health issue.

Well the shooting did take place at "The Boarderline Bar & Grill" so you never know...

and once again for those keeping track this one will as it looks now be the second deadliest mass shooting of the year in the US, just passing the one in Pittsburgh last month.

Does less than 5 really even count? Poor efforts.

Saying that, the NRA or whoever will probably just redefine the term "mass shooting" and claim that they're declining.

Shooter was an ex marine.

29 y.o white guy.

Mental health it is then. Nothing to see, move along folks.

Edit: For some reason it is being reported he was "heavily tattooed" so that might be an angle they are trying to spin somehow?

Suntan?  Beard?  Ever held hostage by hostile troops?

Ah yes of course!

It's a Homeland situation. Better check his garage for praying mats.

...and just as was the case in Parkland, this individual had a number of significant previous interactions with law enforcement including one call out where the shooter was evaluated for the possibility of an involuntary mental health detention. He was deemed ok.

See, it's not the guns fault. Enforce the laws. Thoughts and Prayers etc.

So bloody crazy, and it's so common that whatever Trump/Kanye/Beyonce/Gronk says next will have it off the news and forgotten. Supposedly some of the patrons were also present in Vegas last year when that country music festival massacre occurred.

Let us not forget Trump pushed through reforms making gun ownership for the mentally ill easier.

He has talked about a fondness for guns, so if he wants to own one himself he would kind of have to make them more accessible to the mentally ill.

Is it a sign of our collective numbness to the unrelenting grim tide of mass shootings that several of us can throw in such off hand quips about arming the drunks and building walls, yet there is no thought that this could be offensive to the victims or the survivors?

Compare it to the national convulsions at the cardboard Grenfell. My heart utterly goes out to all these people, it just feels so pointless and so avoidable.

I thought it fascinating that Trump can toss out the idea of changing the constitution to stop syrian honduran ninja jihadi babies becoming citizens. But you can't stop the mass shooting carnage, because constitution.
