sexbelowsound
Very tidy performance. Well played.
penguin
Looked a bit rusty at times I thought but overall played well and you can tell there is a good, if not very good, player in there.
Spoony
I really like Veretout. There's definitely something there.
VILLAMARV
yeah, I spat a bit of coffee out when I saw the word "Superb" used in the match thread. Things still broke down with him a fair bit but much, much better. Couple of nice corners whipped in with pace and curl too. After all these years of the Bannan/Westwood floaty crap he deserves a gold star just for that.
Villanun
Yes he was a bit dodgy at times, but then I remember him stepping easily past two Man city midfielders and I just smile.
Wainy316
Controlled the game along with Sanchez & Gana today, quite surprised. I think we have found our best midfield. We didn't need to find it, it's been there screaming at us all along.
WooJung
He's still finding his feet in English football, he sowed lapses of brilliance, didn't play perfectly but was ok, especially considering the opposition. Let's not forget he's also just 22.
Phumfeinz
Showed a few glimpses of potential. Looking forward to seeing him get a regular run in the team.
Dr_Pangloss
A bit too tepid and gave the ball away unnecessarily at times but also did some very good things. It's a hard game to come into so overall not a bad performance.
Dr_Pangloss
Twice the player of WestwoodDisagree so far. Hasn't done anything better than Westwood has done in a Villa shirt thus far.
DCJonah
Wasn't amazing but did enough to show me we should be playing him from now on. Get him more up to speed and confident at this level.

You spit your coffee out, personally I'd much rather see people get carried away than sniping at other fans for doing so. I thought he had a decent game. Looked like a premier league footballer. I think he will improve.
Texas_Mike
He was a little careless at times but was always involved, I do like the way he charges forward at times. We lack that so if he can improve a little he can make a big difference to our midfield.
Hanky
Midfield was the best I've seen in some time. Veretout a big part of that. Still have the ball away a bit but they wanted to get on it especially in first half.
abdomlahor
He gives the ball away a bit too often at the moment, but there are flashes of brilliance every now and then. I can definitely see him becoming better with time.

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
He did OK but needs to get forward more. Solid enough defensively.

poitier
He showed glimpses of what he is capable of, but still seemed somewhat off the pace. A lot of his short passes seemed a bit off, still got to the receiver but not quite where they would have wanted it.

I think he will improve.Yep, I get that. I do it myself as you are well aware. Does this seriously annoy you though? and is it really sniping at other fans? I mean I could have chosen to find a quote and thrown some names around if that was truly my intention. I too thought he had a decent game, probably nearer good considering the situation, his own form and confidence and the opposition today. I too think he'll improve and it's something Ive suggested from the start of his time here so nothing changed there for me. Some of the hyperbole thrown around in here is ridiculous too, people writing him off after a couple of games and such. That sort of stuff tends to provoke the same reaction in me as people describing an ok performance as a superb one, in that its a bit over the top and extreme either way. I don't seem to be accused of sniping when I make that point though. As ever, I'm just sayin'.
