Jareth
Surely there is some sort of consumer law where we can return him to the manufacturer (Citeh) so long as we can identify he was faulty in the first six months of ownership?

mattyg38
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/21/david-moyes-sam-allardyce-sunderland Quote Despite only narrowly avoiding relegation in May, Sunderland have not made a signing this summer – although a deal to activate a £5m release clause in the Aston Villa defender Micah Richards’ contract was agreed in principle this week. Lets hope this still goes through even with the change of manager

Popular Post ozvillafan Posted July 22, 2016 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted July 22, 2016 I am gobsmacked that he can go for the sum of £5 mill pounds. A player of his calibre won't be easily replaced - we will be hard pressed to be able to find another captain that can fill his shoes. He has a huge amount of experience both home and abroad that you won't find in many players. If this is true, it's a brilliant bit of business from Sunderland.

dounavilla
I'm really cheesed of with this !!! Potentially a 30 mil + player going for 5m and if rumours are true that Bakuna is going to a champions league club I'm going to be so sad.
omariqy
Richards can be the best English defender in the Premier League.
brommy
Micah is a winner and a born leader so he deserves to be playing at one of the top clubs, like Sunderland.
Pilchard
Knowing our luck Sunderland will take Lescott up there with Richards for peanuts too and totally take away the defence that was going to win us the Champions League.

MellbergsBeard
I can't remember a summer going buy without one of our top players moving on.
Stevo985 Posted July 22, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted July 22, 2016 Micah Richards isn't just an amazing footballer, he's an amazing person. I saw him save a bus load of Birmingham orphans from a burning tunnel with his bare hands. I'm sure he'll do the same in Sunderland. What a loss he would be.
Popular Post DCJonah
I guess this is revenge for taking Darren Bent. Dam you Sunderland. It's just not fair.
NeilS
If this happens I give less than twelve months before Richards will be a regular England International. In the process another club that will be pulling away from us and will be light years ahead of us. What imbecille put such a ridiculous release clause in his contract. I just don't understand the people who used to run the club and their hair-brained ideas of running a football club. Rds1983 Posted July 22, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted July 22, 2016 Getting Richards that cheap is cracking business for Sunderland, under Big Sam he will be an England regular next season and go on to star in the World Cup.
