Demitri_C Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Think this needs its own thread. Popular Post guyavfc Posted June 11, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 11, 2015 Fantastic signing. Think some people in the speculation thread are forgetting the position we've been in the last 4 seasons and should be very pleased we are attracting players of this caliber and potential. Still only 26 too, very pleased with this. 5
Isa Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 He is 27 in a couple of weeks. Not that 26 is young anyway.

We are not challenging for Europe, we are currently the worst team in the league if you look at the standings (outside relegation) this is a real coup on a free
snowychap Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 He is 27 in a couple of weeks. Not that 26 is young anyway. It is to me. I just said it because I expected him to be getting on for 30.
NulliSecundus Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) All done according to the Mirror. Apparently he's turned down 90k p/w from Sunderland to take £65k p/w from us to work with Tim Link to article Micah Richards has agreed to join Aston Villa after turning down a lucrative deal from Sunderland. Sunderland had offered the right back around £90,000-a-week, but he chose Villa - and a deal understood to be around £65,000-a-week - after a personal intervention from Tim Sherwood. The sought-after 26-year-old, had also been pursued by West Ham following his release from Manchester City. The Villa boss is understood to have convinced Richards that he would play a key role in his new-look side and that he would be helped in his bid to break back into the England picture. Richards has been at Italian club Fiorentina on loan but has made just 20 appearances for the Serie A club. He has been keen to come back to the Premier League for some time, despite interest from Inter Milan, managed by his former City boss Roberto Mancini. Great signing if true. myko Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I extremely doubt that. The bloke stayed at City rotting away on their bench for about 5 years just for a bit of extra money. 1
NoelVilla Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Richards, Cole and Senderos? Our physios won't be unemployed anytime soon. Underwhelmed by this. 4
sharkyvilla Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Sunderland offered 90k a week my arse. If they did then they're insane. Good signing for us methinks if it's true. 1
avfcwills10 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 He's a smart lad too, he runs a few businesses and is heavily in the property game. If it's true he's signed for us for £25k less than Sunderland were offering, i'd like to know why.
Webbs Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Wouldn't 65k a week make him one of the highest earners? 1
myko Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I'm happy with this to be honest. With regards to wages, it may be slightly high, but I don't see the point in complaining until the transfer window shuts and we can assess how much of our budget was spent on him
AshVilla Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Happy if he's a RB not a CB Not really an upgrade on Clark or Okore in that position
villan-scott Posted June 11, 2015 VT Supporter Posted June 11, 2015 Where are the obligatory YouTube videos? Good business IMO. Now to the next one. Is it just me, or are free transfers becoming more prominent in today's market?
