Popular Post DCJonah
I've been reading this thread for a few weeks and tbh, half of you have all the strength of convition in your opinions as a strand of freshly cooked spaghetti, some of the calls for his head or "he's not the one" followed by "amazing" after we winot, he's had what 10 games and no transfer windows? Absolutely embarrassing it has to be said, we win he's a genius, things don't go our way he's naive, incredible you're either reactionary little kids or this forum has an unusually high number of bipolar sufferes. Or maybe its different posters with different views.

Popular Post Spoony
I have found some of the criticism of Sherwood actually unbelievable. Villa fans have amazingly short memories even for football fans. We were dreadful under Lambert and we were a totally sunken ship. Admittedly the couple of games before the Spuds game today weren't great, but we were still playing better than we played under Lambert all season and we are reaping the awards with results like this. We are Aston Villa, unfortunately we're not very good and so we're not going to beat everyone but we are now fighting everyone we face and are picking up goals and points along the way as a result. The guy is an inexperienced manager who has come into what I think is the toughest job in the league with a squad who were totally shot to bits. In hardly any time at all, he has turned it around, filled everyone with confidence and got Benteke scoring. Our team was previously a group of no-hopers and in only a couple of months we are now able to beat a team like Spurs and deserve it. I think what he has achieved so far is incredible and is above and beyond what I was expecting and he deserves buckets more credit and respect than he gets IMO.
penguin
Agree with DC, whilst the consensus of opinion at the time will vary according to the result. Obviously following a win the more positive posters will be out in a greater number and vice versa, I haven't really noticed any one individual completely changing their views on a game by game basis. jasoncb
I think its just emotions, we have been at a few points in the season where we can't see a way to survive relegation. A club like this should never be anywhere near relegation and can cause ott reactions.
pacbuddies
Tim, just keep on playing to win. So much more refreshing than the dross the previous manager subjected us to.

Ingram85
10 pts from 24, a huge improvement over what we had before but the exciting/nervous thing is there is still room to improve!
Mantis
Great post Spoony. I was quite sceptical of Sherwood myself but he's done a tremendous job when you consider the position we were in when he came.

Villarocker
I am pretty convinced that we would be bottom now if Lambert was still in charge. Getting Sherwood in was a brave move that is so far paying off. How many people thought that the board wouldn't have the sense or balls to sack Lambert? Just imagine if you were all right!
djdabush
His tactics frustrate me and his substitutions often baffle me, but if he keeps getting results then frankly, who cares? We'll see what happens in the long term but I'm impressed with the results he's getting.

sexbelowsound
we've now scored as many league goals under sherwood this season as we did under lambert That stat right there is pretty damning. Granted he has had Benteke fit for all of his time here but still. Really exciting times.

Daniel
He's got us looking a threat going forward. You will always get points if you can score goals. I don't expect us to win every game, but it's nice to go to Tottenham, a team in which we never get anything from and take 3 points and keep a clean sheet.
