Tom Cleverley

Probably a 1 year loan will happen if it's a wage issue, and he might go to Hull anyway.

No way Man U will loan him out as they'll get no money for him after the loan. They'll want the 7/8m for him now.

True, but if the player digs his heels in and says he does not want a move what can they do? At least a loan usually results in the other club paying the wages, and would keep his options open for a year. Just saying like.

If this happens it will depend on a) Evernot coming in with a late bid and b} his desire to come here provided we match his wages.

I didn't think this was a go-er from the start and while there's no doubt he would improve the team I've seen more than enough from Richardson and the improving (again) Westwood to not be too disheartened should it fail to come off - I can think of other players who would also improve the team for £8m.

Mail think Cleverley's poised to join us, with Diame off to Hull...

Mohamed Diame's £3.5million move to Hull City from West Ham is back on with Tom Cleverley set to choose Aston Villa over the Tigers.

Diame has been pushed down the pecking order at Upton Park following the summer arrivals of fellow midfielders Cheikhou Kouyate and Alex Song.

Diame joined the Hammers in 2012 after three impressive seasons with Wigan, and in January last year Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in the Senegalese midfielder.

Manchester United and England midfielder Cleverley is poised to join Villa in an £8m move.

The United youth product was used consistently by both David Moyes and Alex Ferguson but his time at Old Trafford appears to be drawing to a close.

If his wage demands are a problem lets throw 8m at Derby for Hughes. He's a quality player and would command lower wages.

Will Hughes is overrated and would probably take a year or two to actually do anything at prem level like Delph.

Craig Bryson is the best midfielder at Derby and would only cost about 4m.
