  1. A group of about 12 of us (heading down from all parts of country plus London) are heading to Clapham and a few really good pubs there.
  2. If Benteke has any sense he stays at Villa until a regular title contender/top 4 club comes in. To move to Liverpool would be madness.
  3. he will add goals,we currently are on 11? Unless Randy brings back Jimmy milner I think JS is a real option.. Better than zigzog he won't come cheap - I'm sure Swansea will look to improve upon what they paid for him and there are better out there. but that's the market, your buying a Premier League player, the silla players of this world show you get what you pay for,we will need a replacement for delph if he goes, how much is Delph worth? If we have the funds for a Shelvey who wont come for any less than £8m, there are better options out there.

  5. He should be close to the team for set piece ability alone...
  6. Gabby is a committed player, but should be a squad player. Does a cracking job in certain games, but others we need a more creative player e.g. Grealish.
  7. Add Januzaj to that midfield/forward line and we'd be looking great. Strength in depth (for our level) this season which is promising.
  8. I'll say it again. Tell Delph he is better off staying where he is playing well and getting in the England side and give him 60k a week on a long term deal. Remind him how we looked after him during his injury nightmare. Vlaar we can afford to lose, delph we cannot.
  9. Cancel the rest of his contract so he can stay at Brighton? Seems the best solution all round, as he says, its not about the money; its about playing, so sure he wont have an issue with that....
  10. Don't want Dembele, Sinclair or T. Hazard. Salah, however, I would. Offers something very different out wide. a loan would suit Villa and chelsea. However, if United are allowing out Januzaj and we sign Cleverley on a permanent deal....that'd be even better.
  11. His contract is up in the summer; on a free, yes, otherwise no thanks.
  12. Quite the fantasy bargain: Thanks Alan.
  13. I don't know about you but I have never referred to any stadium by anything other than its original name. Whatever our ground, or stands, are called 'officially', we will all still refer to them by their original name. Plus, if we can actually get some decent money for it (unlikely) and help us to buy and fund the wages of a new decent player each season, do it.
  14. I fear the worst, however, it's often the innocuous ones that are worse when it comes to knee ligaments e.g. Aguero on Saturday and Walcott last season. Fingers crossed.
  15. I still don't think he is the right man long-term, but fair play, back to back wins and he deserves the credit. He has put up with a lot during his time here, and has taken a lot of flack but still keeps going, and for that at least, he gets credit from me. Just like with defeat, I will not get carried away, it is a long season. But for the next week at least, he deserves credit: we played quite well.
  16. Poor display, against a team who are worse than us. Massive 3 points. We go again.
  17. I could never hope for a loss. I still hope for a change in playing style and results though.
  18. I dont say that because we wont get a penny for either. Name me a player any club has got money for when they have 6 months left, very few. Holtby, fOr one. It's more common than you state.
  19. We need a good coach, I'd like to see Steve round.
  20. We have a list? list1 lɪst/ noun 1. a number of connected items or names written or printed consecutively, typically one below the other. Do we have a number of goal scorers?!??!
  21. For me Westwood is a nice tidy player, but doesn't impose himself on games anywhere near enough. A decent championship player at best. Delph, Cleverley and even Sanchez are better IMO.
  22. Decent player for me. More solid than many we have tried there since Bouma. A pretty consistent performer. Lambert can finally stop signing left backs....if he can stop.
  23. Sanchez reminds me of Jean Makoun. I think he has the potential to be our most 'accomplished' midfielder once he gets up to speed. Cleverley is a slight upgrade on Westwood for me. However, all three are too similar, as shown by the Sky stats on monday about assists and goals...
  24. I think our scum bag neighbours are a perfect example. Club is probably run worse than ours, financial restraints in the league worse than ours but the club decided enough was enough and the fans are excited again and they've started picking up results. Problem is, whilst I agree with your point, for every successful 'bump' from a new manager, there are double the amount that aren't successful. There's no doubt it's a gamble but for me it would spark an interest that i'm fast losing in this club. But if you are Lerner, you have a manager who has proven he can keep a side up on a limited budget - would you gamble on a manager who may or may not? Baring in mind he can't recoup his money at present, he's hardly likely to gamble it away. As a championship club, he'd struggle to shift us for a sub £50m.
