ROTTERDAM1982
For me, the midfield would be Sanchez and Gueye, with the 3rd one being between Westwood/Veretout/Grealish. Traore up front with Gestede/new signing down the middle, and Gil/Ayew/Sinclair on the left.
DCJonah
Played well but isn't mobile enough to play in a midfield 2. I can see why he was subbed.

lexicon
Works for me, Ryu. Sanchez is really staking a claim with performances like that - he and Gana should be starting at CM for sure.
VillaChris
Good performance yesterday, not quite the joke player some on his forum would have you believe even if he does play one suicidal pass per game. As to his role, I'd play him more often than not away from home and in games v top 6 as his marking skills are top class and we obviously have less possession in these games. Would I play him v Sunderland at home? Nah, we need to win that.
WooJung
He is an excellent player when he isn't making silly mistakes. If he can perform like yesterday consistently I can't see him being dropped.
CrackpotForeigner
People criticising Tim for taking Sanchez off at Palace should bear in mind that he hadn't played more than 20 minutes this season. Better to have an attacking player on than a DM who's knacked, even if it would have been best of all to have a fit DM on all game (or maybe not, but you can see the logic). JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Been one of his biggest critics but he was actually good yesterday!

Stevo985 Posted August 24, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted August 24, 2015 He was good on Saturday. But his problem last season was a performance like that would be followed by a few games where he looked terrible. Hopefully he can find some consistency this season. if he does he'll be a fine player for us.

TRO
He gets castigated for making silly mistakes....but they all do.....so I don't see the issue with just him.
dont_do_it_doug.
Magnificent performance. Completely dominated the midfield. Great call starting him.
KJT123
Agreed DDID. It was a true defensive midfield performance, sat back and intercepted as well as dispossessing their midfielders. Still baffled as to why he came off though, mind.
omariqy
People seem to forget that before his Arsenal howler he had a string of 4 or 5 games where he was immense.
