Werner is a good signing for spurs, but he plays same position as Son. Think he will suit the system though.

He's a good signing, as long as they are not expecting goals.

Yeah, they barely exist.  Haaland, Watkins, Isak, Solanke, Pedro, Hojlund, Wilson, Jimenez, Edouard, Awoniyi, Toney, Calvert-Lewin - they're just not things anymore.

Toney been banned. Many mentioned are rubbish. Watkins is a converted winger. People love to use term striker to make out like we're squad deficient when goal scoring attacking forward (loads of PL teams are missing those, or they're out of form) is more relevant and Emery could probably get a tune out of existing players if it came to that

Yes, Toney doesn't exist anymore.  He's not a player.

Watkins also not a striker because he once played as a winger.

The rest, all shit.  Absolutely not key parts of their sides at all.  All basically just squad fillers, with the real goals coming from wide forwards.

That's where a lot of goals come from (Son, Salah) or a wide forward player like Bailey/Diaby in Bowen at West Ham being played as striker atm.

Of the top 14 (picked because joint top 10s) top scorers in the Premier League, I’d class 8 of them as strikers and that’s not including Bowen who, as you say, has been played as a striker nor Hee-chan because I don’t really know where he plays. Cole Palmer is in that top 14 because he’s scored 5 penalties.

But yeah, they barely exist let alone score.

Hwang plays up front as well.

Yep and Duran is absolutely NOT a far worse player than all of those you mentioned either.

Werner is a cracking signing and WILL make a difference.  If we lose Watkins for even just a few games, the top 4 race will become almost impossible.

Spurs are the tean we are battling for 4th and they have options up front.

We have Watkins, plus a kid who runs around like a bull in a China shop who some think has potential, I haven't personally seen it. (Palace goal aside but thats one moment).

We had just better hope Olllie plays every remaining game this season.

Yet Duran has the same amount of league goals as Werner this season while playing fewer minutes

Spoke to my Spurs fan mate yesterday, he was absolutely appalled with the idea that we're both part of a 'great eight' now and how we should be hoping English teams do well in Europe so that 4th/5th means both of us could make the Champions league.

Spurs are shooting for the title dontcha know? They're not competing with the likes of us, he expects to finish above Arsenal and thinks they've got a real chance of winning the league. He doesn't see us as a rival, he sees a big four of Liverpool, City, Spurs and Arsenal, he says they have the best defence in the league, Kulusevski is the best player in the country and their midfield is unmatched - he believes that with the way they're set for the future, he can fully expect multiple trophies over the next four years and an end to the Spursy trope.

They're amazing, Spurs fans, they have a sort of wonder and hope. Like children.

Would be extremely annoying if the managed to get both Lucas Bergwall and Roony Bardghji. Think there is a real risk they will. The Swedish media gushing over Spurs would be insufferable. We already have a couple of the more notable football journalists here being die hard Spurs fans and this would justify them making daily articles and interviews.

Tottenham forward Richarlison will be out for "three to four weeks" with a knee injury, says boss Ange Postecoglou.

The Brazilian, 26, picked up the injury in Spurs' 2-1 defeat by Wolves last time out.

Richarlison has scored 10 goals in 22 top-flight appearances so this season.

"Richy is disappointed because he's been a key contributor, but that has been how our season has gone," said Postecoglou.

Nine of Richarlison's goals have come in his past 10 matches.

Tottenham have struggled with injuries in recent weeks with Postecoglou still without defender Pedro Porro, and Ryan Sessegnon is set to miss the rest of the season after having surgery on his hamstring this week.

But, they could be boosted by the return of full-back Destiny Udogie, who was back in training this week.

Tottenham, who are fifth in the Premier League and five points off fourth-placed Aston Villa, host Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Be ideal if Cash did it actually to absolutely melt their minds.

This is interesting...

Advantage Spurs.

Matt Law from The Telegraph believes it's advantage Spurs for 4th as they play less games.

Whereas our manager wants as many games as possible.

I think I'll side with Unai on this one.

It's impossible to know. More games means more distractions from the pressure that can build up waiting a week for a match, but also means less prep and there's no guarantee each week if you'll be sharper or more fatigued.

Depends on players mentality and conditioning which is impossible to know. As Unai says playing more games also gives more time to practice in game scenarios, approaches etc...

The thing that matters more IMO is that Spurs have easier fixtures, ending the season with as close to two guaranteed victories as possible.

Yeah their last two should be 6 points for them.

Saying that if we can win today and then turn Spurs over at home we'll have some real momentum.

Yep, I think we need a 5 point point gap over them with 2 games left to play.

Then one draw against Liverpool or Palace and we get 4th.
