  1. Just in time for the party at Bolton when Neil Warnock saves them from relegation to League two on the last day. Mate.
  2. I think Manchester is a hole. But many, many times more people around the world have heard of it than Birmingham. I am constantly having to explain that Birmingham is a city and have been for the last 25 years of moving around the world.
  3. Australia is an anomoly as its basically a British colony. I lived there too and yes, some people had heard of Birmingham there.
  4. In every realistic sense it already is. Far more investment goes there, as well as media, tourism, and many other factors. As I say, globally, hardly anyone I ever meet has heard of Birmingham, especially outside of Europe. Manchester is known by everyone. We all know why that is but it doesn't change the facts. Birmingham has lost a lot of its relevance in the last 100 years and Manchester has sadly surpassed us Mainly because of its football teams. I find people have hear of Aston Villa, but not the city of Birmingham. Both Manchester clubs have the citys name and they are both very successful. We are the successful club in our city and almost nobody knows we are from Birmingham. In my experience.
  5. I think the opposite. Its too far south to be northern and too far north to be southern. Birmingham falls between 2 stools and Manchester is now the 2nd city and the "capital" of the north in every realisitc sense. Hardly anyone I've met (In more than 100 countries) has even heard of Birmingham, never mind know where it is. We never promoted ourselves well enough as a city and Manchester is known because of its football clubs of course.
  6. When I lived in Melbourne, I went to watch Villa v Spurs at about 4am at a bar in town (it had a late license). I was the only Villa fan there and there were about 20 Aussie Spurs fans. This was the game Son scored in the last minute so about 5 or 6 years ago. Here in Thailand, Spurs are far bigger and better known than Villa, although everyone "supports" Liverpool and Man United. Same in Malaysia and Singapore.
  7. That club has never even developed never mind redeveloped. I certainly wont be casting envious eyes at that shower of s***. We are in the Quarter Finals of a European competition and sat 4th in the Premier League. What a club fighting relegation to league one are up to is irrelevant in every sense.
  8. Well, according to most on their forum, they have bought the Wheels site and are building a 60,000 stadium there. Not even joking, they genuinely, genuinely believe it. Not only that, but it will host NFL games and concerts and be THE stadium for any event in the Midlands. It's one of the reasons they love their new owners; for giving them this stadium. I dont know how many levels of delusion that is but it's quite a few. Idiots.
  9. I agree that things aren't 100% perfect at Villa Park and I made that clear in my reply. I am saying that it wont be perfect anywhere else either. If anything, it would be worse. I have answered your points. I really dont get the hostility. Anyway, lets leave it there.
  10. I did read your post and no need for the slightly aggressive tone. My point is that you can spend as much as you want on a new stadium but there will always be problems getting people to and from it. Wherever it is. I don't believe this "goldilocks" location even exists (apart from right in the city centre which can never happen) never mind it being viable to build a stadium there. I genuinely think VP is in one of the best places possible in terms of transport networks. As for uber, you are never getting an uber with 40,000 plus people around. Football, festivals, gigs, whatever. If you do, you are bloody lucky.
  11. Again, Spurs have just built a billion pound stadium and ALL those problems still exist for them and more.
  12. Aston is actually on 2 different lines. The Walsall line and the Lichfield line. But as I say, it's still a much better served ground than almost any I can think of. Especially Spurs' new super duper billion pound ground which is an absolute hell to get to and from.
  13. Thats why I said "major" trophy, as I knew someone would pull that up. Nice editing.
  14. You are not going to get a better transport hub than 3 train stations within a mile, countless buses, a 30 minute walk to the city centre and the bloody spaghetti junction, linking major motorways, just a stones throw away. There will ALWAYS be issues getting away from a stadium with 10's of thousands of people in it. Have you tried getting away from Spurs? Its a f******* nightmare. Villa Park is in the perfect postion compared to almost every ground I can think of. (Newcastle, Chelsea and Arsenal aside maybe)
  15. It's getting **** ridiculous now.
  16. Theres not much scope for redevelopment of that due to Witton Lane itself.
  17. SHA fans have been going on about them moving to that site for ages. Apparently its been bought and therefore isn't an option. Anyway, we aren’t moving. At least, not under the current ownership and probably never, for a multitude of (good) reasons.
  18. Oh really? How ironic that you should say that. I completely agree with you of course, its just that last week... oh never mind.
  19. I saw one review of Ollie online that said Toney is the better all round footballer. Ive only ever seen Toney play against us so I'm not sure how true that is.
  20. And you think what Watkins, Konsa and hell, even Grealish had to do before they got seleceted....
  21. We aren't signing him. That much us certain.
  22. They were all Christian nations at that time and adopted the Christian cross. Thankfully they are mostly secular nowadays, hence their progressive attitudes. Their flags remain out of tradition.
  23. That sounds like somethng SHA or Baggies fans say about us. Our address is B6, Trinity Rd, which is in Aston. The plot of land that VP sits on is so big that part of the ground edges into Witton but our address is most definitely Aston.
