Things that piss you off that shouldn't

Car insurance companies! I hate shouting at the poor sods in the call centre because I know the horror they have to go through but the companies seem to specifically design their procedures and policies to rile you up.

Got a quote from a generic comparison site. Couldn't do the whole thing online had to phone. OK fine, 10min wait in a queue and then 15 min on the phone later and the quote is £140 higher.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Loads of them went through life angry, just for the want of the love of a man.

You have any of the photographer's books?

No. It's something I'm aware of, got a slight fascination for, but always end up steering clear of.

I don't want to be one of those guys that watches minor channel documentaries about serial killers and has a line of books about Hitler on the book shelf.

That's not strictly true.

Where my wife works, they send out some official post in comic sans. It's about knowing you're target audience. She works with families that, er, need a little help along the way. Anything sent out in any format that looks in the slightest bit official doesn't get read or acted on. Anything unsolicited gets binned.

People just don't open mail. Then they don't read it if it even slightly looks like it's potential stress.

So they get a text or a pm or a dm or whatever medium that client prefers that basically says 'hey, cool dude type person. We will be sending you a letter, look out for it, there's something you need to do/sign/return and there's also an argos voucher in there. Stay cool y'all'.

Then they send out the post, hand written address, a comic sans letter absolutely as brief as possible, in a square white envelope, not a rectangle like it might have heavy duty documents. Not brown like another fine or summons.

That has a proven track record of getting the highest response rate from some people.

Possibly one for the boring thread.

I'm surprised the voting slip in the Brexit referendum wasn't in Comic Sans.

Women who refer to themselves as a 'Mummy'

it depends on context

if she's trying to persuade a toddler in a push chair to eat a carrot stick, perfectly acceptable

if you're slamming away behind her, giving it the full porn star backside slap technique, not so much

What about if they throw in "Yummie" into the conversation arena ?

Joke aside, not even acceptable in the toddler scenario. Never refer to yourself the the third person. "want you to eat your carrot  stick", not "Mummy wants you to..."

Perfect for this thread as technically it is wrong but the whole Premiership / Premier League thing.

No, not the people who get it wrong, but the ones who pick up on it every single time.

We all know they mean the Premier League, so just leave it alone.

Oh and the 'oh so clever' people who mention the Scottish Premiership can get in the **** sea.

Absolutely.  That really pisses me off.

Also the Hungry House adverts piss me off.

This week, we had 2 charity collections, a lunch out, and an evening meal and drinks for someone that I don't know getting married. I opted out of all 4 of the **** things, as I'm there to make money not to spend it.
